Science did thrive in early islam history but you have to keep in mind that the whole region had a prior culture of science and trade largely developed in the Persian Empire Era. As far as Quran and Hadith for proof - I think you should know that relying solely on Quran and Hadith is the providence of scholarship, of which I have none. The Quran is a Whole and Complete text. It is difficult to take all considerations at one time when you have other things in your life: family, work, studies etc. This is what the scholars are for - they dedicate their lives to taking in all the considerations and then producing answers and proposals that...
