Ed is too much of a gentleman to say it here, but with a county fair's typical assortment of just-released carnies, toxic plastic prizes and grabass-playing children and adults alike, an ice cold Bud is just the thing to take the edge off.

Ed looks like he was in his early 30's here.

This ad was first seen around 1967, and probably appeared during the third of Frank Sinatra's "A Man and His Music" specials, which were also sponsored by Budweiser [Ed McMahon announcing]. No other beer had a better pitchman than Ed...when he told you to "Pick-a-Pair" in the spring and summer (that is, buy TWO packs of Bud instead of just one), you did!
