Where did you get those rocks!? I just set up a cichlid tank for the first time and it is not going to well. The ph level is right and i have a filter that is two times bigger than the gallon level but the poop stays on the ground. And theres sand on the bottom so i cant really do anything with out clowdin my tank up so very very nice work. IM so jealous!
I just uploaded a new video of my new african cichlid tank it would be awesome if i could get some views, also if u suscribe i will subscribe back, thanks:P
@MrAryaG The fish in the condo is johanni. The bigger guys were picking on him and had lots of fin damage from it and tore up half his skin exposing all his flesh. He literally looked like he was going to die. And after a month of being in there everything grew back from his fins, to his skin. Quite shocking that he even recouperated from all of that.
@Shinie877 It was by very annoying converting because scrubbing the algae, salt grimes , and probably diseases were all over the tank. I mixed a solution of dilited bleach and than just cleaned the imside thoroughly and rinsed it many many times. I really took my time doing it with no rushing. I hope this answers your question! Also thank you again for all your comments ;)
That tank is beautiful i have similar with black sand and black background just need a different light because the "plant" light isnt bright enough please check it out! yours looks great though!
Like are the black in the aquarium. Fish really pop out. Only thing i have different is my sand it tanned. Would have dont black too though. Nice job.
@icebird109 hi there, you have a very nice set up! i was reading your comment about it use to be a saltwater setup, and i thought that you couldnt turn a saltwater tank back into a fresh water tank? could you help me clear this up thanks..
Thank you all for the comments! I do two week 20% water changes, filter with only poly filter pads and bio media, and do 3 small meals for the fish. I also do montthly dose of acurel f for that polished look!
A single Demasoni will be fine by itself. You're right when it's either 1 or 12 or more. I have 1 by itself in two different tanks and no aggression at all.
I would recommend getting and emperor 400 bio wheel filter. They are the best for the price and do a great job. I just got a new 60 and put it on it, Crystal clear water!
@projectjman911 I did buy the same filter exept mine was the penguin 150 by marineland. I had it running for about a month on the tank and the biowheel just stopped spinning. The biowheel kept taking on water.
@Fx4Ranger2002 The bio wheel will do that after a while, I have an emperor 400 and it says in the instructions to expect that. It says that even if it is not spinning which it will do at times it still has the bacteria built up on there and is still doing its job.
Really nice tank. One word if advice, that demasoni should be kept in groups of 12 or more. U could bring him back and get some maingano cichlids cuz there like the same color but not as aggressive.
@fortheloveoffish I thought it was alright if there was just 1 or 12? And also he is still about an inch, not showing much aggression.. Or will he when he gets a little larger?
@icebird109 i heard demasoni are really only aggressive w/each other or similarly colored/barred cichlids - keeping 12 or more helps to spread out all the aggression
I also have a new updated video of this tank. Please check out my uploads :)

Beautiful in it's simplicity. Many congratulations. (Notice a condo with one fish at the top left of the tank. What fish have you kept inside?)
