Thanks for posting the sheet music! I had Tivo'd this and watched it over and over - then we switched to ATT DVR and I lost it. I just love this piece. I think it's just called "House's High School Composition" in the credits. It's definitely not The Entertainer" as you have figured out by now.
the melody name I asked before is the one Dave play at the beggining, wearing a frak on the stage, in front of an audience. If you know the name of that piece I´ll appreciate to tell me. Thanks anyway.
Beethoven's Waldstein Sonata (No. 21 in C major, Op. 53, Allegro con brio). The others songs of this episode are : "I Don't Like Mondays" by the Boomtown Rats. "Rainy Day Lament" by Joe Purdy. "See The World" by Gomez. "The Entertainer" composed by Scott Joplin. Third movement (Scherzo) of the Symphony in C by Georges Bizet. Bizet's Piano Sonata No. 21 in C Major, Op. 53 Waldstein: Rondo (Allegretto moderato, Prestissimo).
I love this song and have never played the piano before, but I will learn this song !! I found some info a have seen allot og pepole have been asking if there was a title to this song and etc.. well here you go.
later in the same episode, while house is doing an MRI on Patrick, he tells patrick to pretend that he is playing piano with his hands. what is the name of the song that plays while patrick is pretending to play?? somebody please help me!
I cannot thank you enough for posting a link to the sheet music. I am inordinately happy about finding this, you have NO idea. Thank you thank you thank you! And you played it beautifully, by the way. :-)
i can't even put into words how happy i was when i found this sheet music, i learned this song two days ago and i haven't stopped playing it. my moms getting so sick of it hahaha
I don't really think the 2nd half of this is totally accurate. It sounds just a bit off. However, if somebody has sheet music for it, I REALLY need it for a recital I'm playing coming up, please help!
The transcription is good -- I appreciate it. However, I think you are missing a little bit of stuff in the 2nd part (the part that Dave "wrote" in the episode). Also, I need to know the name/composer for legal purposes, as I plan to perform it. Thanks though!
I'm pretty sure they just wrote that little ditty for the episode. So you could credit Hugh Laurie and Dave Matthews for it, I suppose...as "Theme from (Whatever the episode's name is...It's on the tip of my tongue...but I can't remember what it is...)"
We go boys, that they amuse much with being able to touch this melody in the piano but one of you can help me I want to know as the melody is called, or the subject original a hug thank you very much
I could listen to this all day...I just went on that website and I'm going to try to play it. :) Thanks for posting the link and keep up that amazing work! :)
that was really really good, thanks for the link I'll definatly try that out. I love Hugh Laurie playing the piano, anyone see the music he played in Jeeves and Wooster?
Haha, comical but still really good piano playing at the same time.
hey i've written up sheet music to the song that's as close to the original as my ear will get (which is usually right on, it's what i spend most of my free time doing). let me know if you'd like it.
Hi! I would really like to have your version of sheetmusic to this great composition, as soon as one I've downloaded here doesn't match a little bit...
Should you send it to my e-mail, I'd be grateful to you!

I dont mean to be insulting but that wasnt worth the electricity it took to film that. You got the basic idea of what it sounds like but you are as musical as a shoe. What was with the repetition of that first theme over and over?? And the bridge sounded like you had had a bad childhood. Leave it to Hugh and Dave.. You generally have a goodish ear but I wouldnt film a part 2.. From one pianist to.. well.. you.. Didnt mean to sound too offensive.
wow, way to be a jackass, chadzerf. you want bad music from people who may have had bad childhoods? go look for 9 out of 10 myspace bands. repeating themes is a very common element to western music.
wilcoll, great job. very enticing theme, you captured it perfectly (and that's what's really important). i think the ONLY bad part is that it's on electric piano instead of a real piano :D
i was wondering if you have the sheet music for this song. i've been trying on my own for weeks to learn it by myself but i'm just not up to that level yet
Hmm, I think there are a few mistakes along the way, especially when it changes its major, and some of the octaves should be lower or higher. But overall it's great! Thanks for sharing :)
It's a casio privia PX300, with 88keys. It's about as portable as they come for a stage piano I think, weighs 12Kgs. I would recommend it! Sorry for delay - holiday in Thailand!
Thank you for the sheet music, saved me a lot of time trying to play by ear (after which still wouldn't be playing correctly)

I'm afraid this is not "The Entertainer". The Entertainer is played later in this episode on the roll-up piano when Dave Matthews plays in bed.
