Not sure if my last comment was clear. Regarding Romans 14, Christians can drink alcohol as long as when they drink it they don't cause weak Christians to stumble. Also remember that Jesus drank alcoholic wine at the last supper & He wasn't sinning! & what about Jesus turning water into wine at the wedding! He's hardly going to do that & then accuse people of sinning when they drink it. If only Christians would check the teachings they hear with God's Word - & keep God's Word in context ...
A sin is only sin if the Bible teaches that it's sin. Yet there isn't 1 verse in Scripture that says drinking alcohol is sin! Yes, many verses say that 'being drunk' is a sin; but not 1 verse says that drinking alcohol is wrong. See Romans 14 - Paul teaches that alcohol is acceptable as long as it doesn't cause a weak Christian to stumble in their faith. Why are they weak? Because they think that alcohol is sinful. See Colossians 2:16 where we're not to let anyone judge us if we drink alcohol.
This is Johnchapterthree again, just clarifying the context of what I wrote above. Weak Christians are not weak because they think alcohol is sinful. Rather, some weak Christians are weak in their faith - in their understanding of what God says is acceptable, possibly because they don't understand certain Scriptural teachings - and as a result of this they think it's wrong to drink alcohol.

Why? Because Peter preached the wrong gospel. In fact, according to his salvation requirements, even the Demons in James would have been saved. There was no mention of repentance. There was no mention of commitment. There was none of the essential elements that are riddled throughout the gospels.

There is nothing wrong with drinking, or potentially smoking as far as I know (not talking about pot), provided it is not taken to excess.
