  • Im proud because i can play this at age 14.

  • this is the Fontana's version. Urtext have the true version of chopin. Version Autographe its the name and the real. Fontana was a grand friend of chopin and a great pianist too. Fontana Decide Make a copy of the chopin works (Including the waltz) but with his Version. So, This is a version very different of chopin waltz.

  • is in it about bringing a romantic feeling?? why i feel like im holding something that i should say but i won't... keep up the good work man...

  • Sometimes I sit on the floor and pretend I'm a carrot.

  • bellissimo!!!

  • Very beautiful song! *-*

  • first time i felt uneasy listening to this.

  • thats the first time i've seen the hulk play chopin

  • Beautiful, keep it up. :)

  • Not the best you've made. But i Still love you^^

  • Too much rubato. Enough said.

  • molto molto molto molto molto bravo

  • This is beautiful beyond words :)

  • not consistent enough. The lyrics get lost.

  • Nothing is better than watching someone with hands that constantly change color play this piece.

  • @Sappyspartan and on an electronic keyboard....

  • Nothing is better than watching someone with blue hands play this piece.

  • The first minute reminds of the first ballade!

  • Oh, and when you play it again, try not to play so slowly in the beginning. You do hear that first theme repeated several times within the piece. Too much rubato in the beginning can make the peice drag. It's at the end where you're definitely free to add as much rubato as you'd like.

  • I'm playing this piece currently myself, and I must say, you've done a good job. It does sound a little choppy and some parts, and the second section should be much faster, "con anima", with animation! But overall, very vell played and beautiful.

  • @metowemusician Why do you gotta hate? Im just saying my opinion of his interpretation. Its not a personal attack. I dont have a problem you do

  • very nice!thanks for sharing!:D

  • you played it to slow and jerky. The piece should flow

  • @pietrogonzalez420 what is your problem?they play the piece beautifully.

  • I am the student of a teacher who was a student of a teacher who was a student of a student of Chopin :D

  • @Nightfever3 this isn't possible . You'd have to be more than 5 generations away from teacher to student to have a student teacher realationship to chopin. He isn't that young.

  • @metowemusician its actually quite possible. The generations of piano teachers dont have to be like children, where you can really only have children up to like 40s (usually). Someone could be a teacher at age 65, and if you have 3 or so generations of that, it reaches Chopin's time.

  • @metowemusician Yes it is.

My teacher is Massimiliano Facchini, who was the Student of Rodolfo Caporali, who was the student of Alfonso Rendano, who was the student of Georges Mathias who was the student of Frederic Chopin. :D

  • @Nightfever3 Bravo my child :)

  • Where did you get the sheet music to this wonderful piece? Can you please post the URL?

  • Why green gloves?

    Merci encore ! Tack !

  • Whoa your hands look cool

  • you are wonderful

  • @joshbegosh69 haha whattttt? :x

  • beautiful...

  • i was just searching for this song to get into it - and it's tonality - and your version just made it ;)

  • Uh?? Tempo?

000、甘い素晴らしい味( Oo 69 Shopanopeanpu of playing such a wonderful dance my soul can not stop dancing and non - cool sounds good to me just the beauty of your great features ooooooo sweet my tongue thats. 000, excellent sweet flavor)

  • i'm looking for a Chopin Valse song where the left hand doesn't start until like the 3-5 measure...i think it was 4-5 measures. can anyone help me find it? i don't remember the op. or the number and i'm sorry for the lack of information...but if you think you know, please reply! thank you :)

  • @ecofriendlyME1 I That would be the minute waltz OP. 64 # 1

  • @ecofriendlyME1 opus 64 no 1

  • I'm learning how to play this song right now, and listening to you play it has really helped me get a feeling for it.

    You play wonderfully. :)

  • This song in the beginning always think of really dark themes and evil i don't know why this song just touches me inside as it progresses. :)

  • One of the most greatest piano songs ever written!

  • Very well done. the speed in wich this song should be played will be a mistery forever, because the sheet say: lento (d=138), wich doesn't really make sense of this

  • I like it, but one comment I have is there is too much reverb for this piece. In the sheet music you must see that you hold the damper pedal down for each measure, release it after the third beat, start over on one in the next measure, your playing is very good though :)

  • Comment removed

  • I like your speed that youre playing this at. Ultimately it is music and it's up to the player to interpret the song the way they feel for it to be played. I don't think you did an injustice of anything to Chopin. Very nice. (^_^)=b

  • Una musica romantica bella inrpretazione.............

  • you should try and incorporate a little more rubatto and speed+dynamic variation

  • i wish i have a grand piano but i have an old one. =( but i really enjoy this song. how do u make the hands like that? lol

  • amazing. you would expect from this valse to save a strict 3\4 Rhythm.

  • I like it but you have to play it a little faster than this, it will be better !

  • I like the feeling very much, but it's true it needs to be a bit faster, especially the middle part.

  • I think everyone does this one differently.

  • i love this one.... such beautiful music. I have been practicing this song

  • awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    5 stars

  • wonderful job!

  • This song brings back memories of a childhood. My mother played this one almost every day. Thank you for uploading this wonderful piece of music. Much appreciated.

  • @dickemil:

What a nice story! Must've been great to hear her playing it.

I agree, this is a beautiful piece and very well played here as well! Thanks for sharing.

  • Thank you.

  • Maybe to rubato...

  • this was fantastic!!!!

  • bellissimo!

  • Nice! However, I don't think any chopin piece needs special effects xD

  • this is really good!

  • Belle interprétation

  • Not that bad. Rather good.

  • Wat Grade is this song? (RCM)

  • ohh!!! i played this last year! its like for 7years of playing? smthin like that really it depends on ur skill..

  • Comment removed

  • its gr 8 RCM

  • perfecto

  • ke orroreeeeeeeeeeeeeee! mbart a sonààààààààààààààààààà.io la so fare molto meglioXDXD

  • spero per te che scherzi

  • I think you don't respect the rythm enough...

  • u asshole u could of been less egoisting teach us how to play it

  • You can teach someone how to play Chopin's waltz...the notes and tempo....but you could never teach how to play it properly. Pieces such as these need to be felt from within and beyond.

  • good...:D

  • tis not too slow

  • The interpretion various a lot at youtube. I like this interpretion. I wish some notes can be softer.

  • to be honest with you...i like it better slow lolll

  • this is as freakin slow as is possible. this is the slowest playing in the world. YOU WANT SLOWER?

  • well maybe no slower.. i just like his version of the song lol.nothing wrong with that.

  • The interpretation is actually great in my opinion. Just at most parts there is no movement

  • you dont have to be so rude...

  • I like the stretching. :)

But I didn't use too much robato when I played this piece... Some parts have to have a constant pace though.

  • too much tempo change. its supposed to be a little variation in key places, the stuff that distinguishes pianists from one another. you might as well have completely ignored the original tempo with this much rubato

  • beautiful.

  • its slow,

  • which programm did u use^^?

  • :) that's so beautiful. i also play it with this tempo. in my opinion it would be better without that reverb effect, just an opinion

  • I enjoyed the interpretation alot--good technique, also great audio quality.

  • It's too slow... : /

    Don't forget it's a waltz, it's supposed to be dansed :-).

  • @missmilka44 it gets faster you know.

  • good to see your enjoyment but keep the pulse going

  • the touch is good but really, the constants stretching of the tempo is really awful and unbearable. I have learned piano for 10 years and you know, it can sound better and should be played better. Though you can always make it your own piece (adding sth specials) like that, but I don't like it at all...

  • thankyou so much for not playing this fast, and making it seem as though you are really enjoying this piece, and not just trying to rush through it. music is not here to rush through and not have a second thought about it, and i applaude you for noticing that

  • i enjoyed this keep up the good work

  • nearly perfect played! Very well :)

  • I always feel this piece is played too fast. This version is fantastic.

  • I love it!!!! It is...very very beautiful!!

  • yeah i just must agree!

    wonderful playing as always ;)

  • Thank you for sharing your video. I think your interpretation of this piece is really beautiful. Apparently it is much easier to criticize and make silly comments about someone else's work than it is to post a nice video like this one. Please keep sharing your music... That's what really matters!!!

  • first thought: this is how it should be played!

amazing job! i was looking for how to play the weird third part, thanks for the help :]]

  • Honestly, these people who posted comments about speed, tempo, or your way of playing this are complete morons. Expressing one's playing skill/style is an art. Overall, you played this piece well.

  • Jesus christ.... you are awesome man. you play it PERFECTLY ! keep doing so!

  • Too but TOO slow..takes all the magic away.

  • Well at least I agree. The tempo is actually lento so it could be played this slowly. Even though some parts should be played slow stretching it makes it sound almost unbearable.

I'm just voicing my opinion. If you have a problem with that, then you're the one making the mistake.

  • this person plays with their soul, it doesn't matter if your going the same speed that everyone else is playing at, its all about your own feelings about the peice; some prefer it slow, some prefer it fast, and this is his preference.

  • contrary to what everyone below me believes, i feel it was a very musical and creative performance, albeit slow, but musicality over speed right?

  • very good!

    I like your playstile.

  • You know, people, you REALLY need to learn how to write things more tactfully. There are TOO many rude comments here. Do you really talk to people like this in real life or do you just say it in youtube because you can't show your face? Cowards. Great video, I really liked it!

  • i was just giving my opinion, it wasn't my intention to hurt anybody.. the person who played this is good but i just didn't like how he played this, that's all.

    merry christmas!

  • I agree with you my dear friend. People with rude comments are making too much trouble.

  • Too slow !

  • Agreed with jadorexmyxdiorx990

  • While appreciating your great skill in piano playing, I feel compelled to say that your version of this song seems to be overladen with "feeling", almost to a point of over-exaggeration. And the beat of the second part is off: it is supposed to be played faster. I find this to be an emotionless performance, highlighted by what you deem to be the "correct" way to play Chopin. Very...fake. Yes, that is the word I am looking for: fake.

  • I couldn't say it better myself, I could play it better though. Not necessarily because I'm a better pianist but this version you got here is quite lame.

Sure ,this piece is emotional and sometimes slow. But it has a bit of variety in it. Here you flatten it out totally by playing the whole song even a bit more emotional then what is pleasurable in the first part that should be very emotional.

Bravo

  • Bonjour, Lampa, Le Toronto, Turtoo', le Canada

  • :D i play this

    Et je suis d'accord avec le commentaire précédant..il y a trop de vagues dans cette interprétation;

  • ArbiterElegantium:

« I am no fan... this reverb, not so good for playing Chopin!

And I agree with the previous comment {debiaptget}... there are too many surges in this rendering; I am not sure one has to overact in the well-"romantic" slow-downs in Chopin, he liked overall the tempos in his works being not altered; I always found it wrong to try to overact pretexting he is a "romantic" composer... »

  • I agree that players currently try to much to be "romantic". A great lesson is given by Dinu Lipatti: by following the score with exactitude and restraint, he is finally more stirring and touching than all these big demonstrations of overblown "emotion", so fashionable today, in music alterations as in physical gestures.

  • Sorry I failed to mention that I highly appreciate Cubus' play; IMO he does not bend to the current trend more than the minimum currently needed to become known.

    Wed 2 Apr 2008 12:54 GMT

  • très beau !

  • well done on those chramatic runs

  • I enjoyed it, and the effects too. Thanks!
