Curious,what did you use as a power supply for this radio? The tone is wonderful,so smooth and warm!

I looked at the pictures in the site you listed in the description and the craftsmanship is astounding.

Home made ,about 32 years old power supply. At least ham summer camp sticker on it is from 1977. Previous owner made the power supply. Filament 12V, anode 230V.

I use small PA-system speaker, which has the impedance transformer in it's cabinet.

I like The tone too :)

Do you have an electric fence in the neighborhood that makes the ticking sound?

I noticed CW in 5-letter groups at about 3 minutes in. I don't hear that much in my location.

My neighbour has about 100 cows...

I think CW is from our eastern neighbour country Russia. Transmission to their spies, maybe..

@k2wi I have a holiday home in Brittany & I often listen to the radio when I'm there. For many years I've been trying to find the cause of an annoying ticking noise on my radios. Finally thanks to you & meikkis2 I now know what it is. Strangely not knowing the cause of the interference is more annoying than the noise itself! Many thanks, Mike
