@headfuckd I do shoot corvids when they get in the chicken run and take the eggs/chicks - and rats, lots of rats - much prefer shooting them to poison - rats are quite fun I will admit. I have night vision now with a video-out so might take some rabbit hunt videos - it's awsome.

@headfuckd I have a green laser - I usually use it for lamping off the back of a 4x4 as you don't really have to aim. The Night scope I have is the Pulsar NV550 with the Dr. Bob doubler lens - it's very good but expensive rocking in at around a grand all in. There are some cheaper units out now for digital night vision like the Night Sight NS50 and NS200 which will bolt on your regular scope (you can also record in colour off these).

@TheThingamajig Ahhh... you should carry a priest in that case. Nothing worse than leaving an animal to suffer. My rifle is a 7 shot bolt-action, so don't have that problem. The best kills are when the animal drops and never knew what hit it, like this video. Although if you have a problem with squirrels and don't feel confident taking a shoot I would recomend the Kania 2000 trap. 100% Clean kill every time.

It was a clean kill so the animal didn't suffer - this is important when hunting and the main factor in when to take your shot. Just because I hunt - it doesn't mean that I don't have respect for what I'm hunting... if anything knowing your prey and where to hit it just makes you more efficient.

@TheAmazingDogFaceBoy lol my squirrels get shot with benjamin discovey.22 with preditor polymags 2 weeks ago i shot one, it went through its lungs and broke its spine droped it instantly didnt kill it instanly, but fucked it up by the time i got there to take it out of its missery which lasted 8 seconds. i dont usally take head shots though if i have a proper rest and in range i will take a head shot.

Not only that - if you catch a squirrel, in the UK, you are legally obliged to have it destroyed - to release it is a criminal offence - they are destructive vermin, ask any game keeper - ask the UK red squirrel society, the forestry commission or the RSPB. I have eaten loads of Squirrel - but that one was a bit 'urban' to be eaten i.e. bin scavenger. I only eat the corn-fed ones from the countryside that live in the woods and raid the phesant feeders - I agree, good eating. It wasn't wasted though as next doors dog had it!

Never had a problem with jamming - I would get him to loosen the screw a bit on the cartridge (so it can spin freely to set up the next pellet) - or try different pellets as some pellets are set up for older guns i.e. if the barrel is a bit worn then they will still shoot tight but in a new barrel you might get a bit stuck as you wedge them in - I noticed this with BSA Hollow point pellets i.e. they were a bitch to breech but still shoot ok.

I have eaten Grey Squirrel - but I didn't eat this one as I don't trust what town/vermin squirrels have been eating i.e. I have seen them go through bins and some London squirrels are actually addicted to crack (no joke - google it). I eat squirrels that I bag in the countryside but the only downside is that they are a bitch to skin - taste great... bit like partridge!
