it all depends on parts od the song, a lot of the lead is keys, but you watch the ole' live vids of EWG and the guitar has a much prominent role as do the drums and bass.

guys, riceslayer is right, i have watched the original video so many times and edgar winter makes most of the song with the keyboard, like that crazy ass solo that starts at 3:06, that was the keyboard using a certain horn to make the keyboard sound like a guitar.

Let's say this, the doo doo do do da doo do doo is played on guitar/keyboard. Most of the song IS played on guitar as a back=up to the keyboard, but lots of the parts the "guitar" plays in the game ARENT made by the guitar. Some are though. Trust me, I have watched the Actual video of the real song a TON of times.

This song is killer. Edgar is amazing, and so is his brother. I could imagine only articulate players like Vai to be able to play this song on guitar like Edgar does on the Keyboard (might be a keytar?). There's some cool vids of the group performing it so check it out. The harmonies between the keyboard and guitar are tight. After watching it you'll probably understand the instrumentation a little better.

If you actually bother to watch a video of it being preformed, you may notice the strange keybord shaped quitar Edgar is playing, he then switches to the stranger Saxaphone shaped one. A marvel of technology that one is. Then he goes on to a couple or really flat guitars that look like drums that he plays with sticks. Weird no?

Yes, some of it is on guitar, but most of the effects and sounds are made by Winter himself on the keyboard. Also, the sax solo is played on guitar in this. Get your facts straight before calling me a dumbass, tool.

I just came from an Edgar Winter concert and i certainly hope that SOMEBODY realizes that this song was never meant to be played on a guitar anyway :( It's a keyboard/synth song. Look up the original recording.

do not believe what these people say boasting it is harder on real guitar... its not. that game makes it a lot harder than it really is and you can notice a few added notes and also where in the outro u have to plya fifty thousand notes on gh in real life its all done by sliding your finger so no it is not harder on real guitar.
