And also, no Sharon in the US version, just cos Americans don't want people to think they're overweight. Get over it America, it's all about 'umah.

O wow. I'm amazed. You couldn't make a worse remake. All of the original's best features are gone. The first is the OTT aussi accent, which isn't exactly a shock to find missing. But the show's documentary/mockumentary style is gone too. The acting is sooo over-done in this show. It's AMERICANIZED because it was an American show. And just because fans of this version liked it, doesn't make it crap. I think the Australian original is dry and don't like it. If one doesn't like dry humor, so what?

American versions of overseas shows, done all the time, and with the exception of The Office, every one of them a failure. Don't know why they bother. This is just pure shit

I've uploaded a few Aussie Kath and Kim clips and yes our humour, like the Poms and the Kiwis, is ironic, sarcastic and irreverent. But it's the conservatives at NBC who underestimate thier viewers. Apart from the bible belt, I'm sure Americans would like the original if they saw it.

I haven't seen this American version, but I heard it's a fail.
Firstly, Kath & Kim is made to mock the stereotypical Australian bogan - how on Earth could you re-write that for Americans?
Secondly, they cast fairly pretty people. Kath & Kim is also about fat people wearing revolting clothing. Good-looking people in semi-revolting clothing doesn't have the same effect.

I live in Australia and I've watched every episode of Kath & Kim, but as soon as this was viewed in AUS I thought to my self: WoW, they just ruined a great Australian comedy :(

Australians should take it as a compliment that they wanted to remake such a great show. The Yank version is pure crap. Guess they didn't understadn the "dag" factor - that made the orignal both savage and endearingly funny. Plus, any sense of irony (or even sarcasm) is missing. Brits get it, Kiwis get it, sadly our Yank cousins don't.

The original Kath and Kim is the best watched it on RTE2 Irl and BBC2 British tv so funny one of the best shows ever this American version ruins everything good about the original. The American channel doing this could have come up with something more original than taking a fantasticly funny show from Australia turning it inside out and coming out with a poor remake.

I have watched two episodes of this trip. yet again America makes a remake of a show from another country as they think they can do it better. Kath and Kim, Coupeling, The Office, ment to be making a remake of the Vicar of Dibley with Kirsty alley just to name a few Yawn. They even bought the rights to make their own American version of home and away. They should leave a classic show and not try to remake it, it hardly ever is as good.

O wow. I'm amazed. You couldn't make a worse remake. All of the original's best features are gone. The first is the OTT aussi accent, which isn't exactly a shock to find missing. But the show's documentary/mockumentary style is gone too. The acting is sooo over-done in this show. The original is so toned down which ads realism to the performances and ultimately makes it the funniest show ever. Great going America!!!!

I watched an episode of this and I cringed at how lame it is in comparision to the real Kath & Kim, it doesn't work. Unfortunately I felt the same about the american version of the office. Why do people need american versions of these shows? Do the american tv audience need to watch americans on tv? Same goes for the american versions of the many asian horror movies. i think the us version is way funnier than the australian version.
i dont understand the humor in the australian version and kim doesnt seem as bratty in the australian one (which is partly what makes the show funny to me)
although im sure people who watch it in australia would say the same thing so i shouldnt judge.
