  • This is the best punk rock band out today.

  • Sounds like Hail the New Dawn.

  • @CRASS4CLASS10 No they arent most of em work so they sing then go to bed so they can go to work the next day.

  • Firstly, awesome song. Secondly, what the fuck is with all these fake paddies commenting on the Irish situation like they know about it. Southern Ireland is an independent state, and Northern Ireland is part of the UK. Look up the Northern Ireland sovereignty vote in 1973. 98.9% people in NI voted to stay part of the UK. The UK isn't an "oppressor" any more. Most of Ireland is independent, and the part that isn't doesn't want to be. What's the problem?

  • @tehcerealguy From what I've read one does not call the Republic of Ireland Southern Ireland without getting people from the republicv upset.

  • The status of our future in both past and present time,

is relegated to a member of a higher class than mine.

To determine and direct the lives of family men who bear the burden

of living up to standard that doesn't exist in 2011~!

  • @dualityofmen22 Faqutastic

  • DKM's are the best of the best, fantastic music and the lyrics mean something. OI

  • I drink Murphy`s Stout with the music of DM and i enjoy my night

  • I personally dedicate this to Gov. Striker, Walker and the rest of the assholes out there who want to the U.S. back to the days of The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory (look it up). Incidently, Blink 182 are frauds who play bubblegum, DKM have weight to their music

  • not at all. a union's ultimately only as good as its membership is active. things can be turned around, especially when there's a little confidence going around - courtesy of seeing workers elsewhere standing up for their rights

  • the union forever!

solidarity to the workers in wisconsin!

  • @dougjnesbitt sadly theres very few good unions out there... you might as well be paying your dues back to your boss, but much respect to those that really cherish and support their workers.

  • sehr geil, drunk hugs from germany :)

  • KNOW WHAT THE HELL YOUR SAYING BEFORE YOU POST!! BLOODY UNION JACK? COME ON!!! FREE IRELAND!!!! STAND UP AND FIGHT...AND ILL STAND UP WITH YA!!!

  • i like beer

  • @MrNickLegit and i love whiskey

  • DKM is soooo much better than blink...not even a comparison

  • wish their stuff was longer

  • oi anyone bloody notice the union jack on the uniforms ? the shite is this ? i know they are american and from boston but come on they should know better to call themselves "irish" and wear the flag of our oppressor

  • @manfromthedailymail they are irish though

  • @manfromthedailymail The Union Jack has blood on it, it means free Ireland.

  • OI! SKINHEAD!

  • Looks like he's about to pop a blood vessel a 0:43.

  • Throw up your fists!

  • DROPKICK MURPHYS!!!!!!!!!

    Voll LÖL (das neue LOL!)

  • whoa! guys, is there a chance of you playing in Prague again?

  • Je suis français, j' adore!!!!!

  • In a union that keeps laying off...I feel the pain 15 years and they can care less...What a world we live in..At least I have a job..for now...

  • Hold faith. Shipping the jobs abroad, out from under the unions, has dealt so many blows to the labor movement. That's why i think we should move away from the AFL-CIO model. Renew the call for a "One Big Union", bring in the retail workers and such, push for a general strike and a general consumer boycott. If the workers come together across the board, they can fend for their own.

  • @opee5230 Could not have said it better myself.

  • @thisisjacksaccount , thank you, but I leave my account logged in at my frat. I have no Idea who posted that.

  • Im not part of uinon but i have been at my

job a long time. this song reaches me.

the co. i work for has sold it's soul!

  • Comment removed

  • I am a fan of both Blink and DKM, they are both awesome but totally different.

  • blink 182 similar with dropkick murphys? what is wrong with kids today guys ?

they aren a fuckin pop trio, this guys rock the shit out man.

and since when john lydon is punk ?

folks this world starts to freak me out.

  • this world already freaked me out when pop shit paramore copies the room in this video

  • @johnnylatoco wtf whos comparing murphys 2 blink 182 murphys kickz more ass and i bet fucking Al Barr gets more pussy then every guy in blink 182 lmfao

  • Punks all about the fucking message, so says john lydon!

  • Slantyrock you are absolutely wrong with every thing you said in that one sentence. the dropkick murphys sound absolutely nothing like blink 182 oh and last I checked while Blink was singing songs about blow jobs and wondering what their fucking ages are, the dropkick murphys sing about shit that actually matters. Once you actually listen to an entire album of dkm, you will realize that the dropkick murphys and blink 182 are not at all alike

  • You're giving a really strange view of blink 182 now,, I mean DKM - Irish song?

Like Blink 182 can't have good songs

I mean they're not alike that's for sure.

but that doesn't say they can't both be good in what they are both doing.

  • My good captain, you hit the nail on the head there!!!! Could not have put it better myself!

  • @CaptainEnglehorn

    i must agree

the only resemblence is that they have tattoos?

    their songs sound totally different.

    dkm is actually good.

  • @CaptainEnglehorn well get this blink also has songs with meaning every band does it they have there funny as hell musik and there meaningful musik.

  • @AudreyTillDeath yea, they have songs that probably mean something... to someone... but there's one major difference between Dork182 and DKM... Dropkick Murphys DON'T SUCK!!!

  • @AudreyTillDeath dont talk meaning and spell music as musik xD

  • slantyrock obviously has super aids

  • He ahs squirrel aids.....BEWARE OF SQUAIDS!!

  • here's to gettin fired after dedicating your life to those fuckers. fuck em.

  • daviddowns, just let al barr grow on ya which hes bound to do hahaha. mccolgan had an edgier voice but barr has definitely filled his shoes over the years

  • sounds like my job at Berry Plastics. LOL

  • yeah,dropkick murphys 4evr!!

  • good song... i am pretty new to the band.. so far i am leaning to liking Mike McColgan more than Al Barr

  • Im Irish American and I don't use a fake accent but I do drink my fair share of booze but that's cuz its fun not cuz of my heritage

  • stand up and fight

  • Christ this is way too appropriate to whats going on now .

  • the scots are also seeking there independence from the british empire

  • Fuck the IRA. No Surrender.

Great band though and a fantastic song, shame about the dick with the Newcastle United shirt in the crowd at the end.

    SAFC FTM

  • not a bullet not an ounce CIRA

  • great band great song. saw them live..they kick ass, love how they always represent the middle class worker struggles to make ends meet.

    long live The Dropkick Murphys

  • I understand its wrong to judge "a book by its cover", but when I looked at the album of the cd, and listened to this song, I thought he was singing about 10 years of military service and then how Uncle Sam ignored the person. (I've also read the lyrics too) But I'm looking at the video and I'm thinking that people are being laid-off on their jobs and nobody lifts a finger at the benefits office.

  • Its a fairly Irish-Socialist point of view on labor. The Blue-Collars will ALWAYS be the first ones laid off to save a few dollars. That's why traditionally labor-based towns are suffering in this day and age. Detroit is a classic example of how a reduction in the skilled labor force can result in a worsened economic state. Same thing with Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Milwaukee...

  • nice, you've got a good point there man, btw kickass song, it really describes today's economic situation in America

  • Right, so he's singing about the occupational lay-offs

  • this is a classic alrdy

  • hehe,lol against the media...

  • wow ken looks thin.

  • Oi!

  • hes got a fucking butchers aprin (union jack) on his shirt

  • yrah but it's probably wardrobes decision and the United kingdom I think includes Ireland... at least the north

  • Ireland is a free country, and yes the north is in the united kingdom but the south is a free country. We dont like it wen ppl say were in the united kingdom. not tryin to get at ya mate

  • most americans dont know too much about northern ireland...its part of the uk but the majority...if not all the catholics there want to be part of ireland which is a free state seperate from the uk

  • Yea thats it! we dont like being told were in the uk, its just a personal feeling we fought so hard to be free!

  • dude not htats actually a free ireland patch ive seen em on t-shirts its got blood on it

  • he probably has a good reason...i meen its not like they gave him the shirt and he mistook it for being the irish flag

  • its because he's not irish, he's scottish

  • They played this song at their concert last night! DKM rules!!!

  • good song

    i have an idea.

if you got shit to say just stfu and dont wach it hahahaha.

  • Go workers!

  • one guy were a misfits shirt :)

  • oh really how come noraid were so active fbi my arse

  • FYI the FBI has been cooperating with MI5 for over 30 years on that matter.

I certainly did not laugh on 7/7; indeed many years ago I stayed at a hotel on Russell Square.

  • i love dropkick murphys and i always will, the music does sound different now though, personaly I like this better

and I do like Al Bar better than Mike McCoglan in DKM

  • Al barr rules but nothing beats the original snger mike mc colgan....... I really liked Al's old band the bruisers this is gotta be my favorite song theres a 7inch version with the original singer i believe???

  • I like him better than the original singer

  • rick barton is the fucking man, i saw him with his new band "everybody out" last year when the toured with dropkick, awesome concert

  • God Damn NINA signs. Anyone from IRELAND know about them? Sure, us younger people never had to deal with that, but our grandparents, great-grandparents, and so forth, they all had to in the cities of Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Pittsburgh and everywhere else in the Mid-Atlantic and the Northeast. Just because you're not from the island, doesn't mean you're not IRISH

  • cfc35 boy r u confused check your passport and it tells u where u were born all this old country stuff is getting very boring im pure english and dont need to hang on to a history thats not mine get sorted twat

  • It's a shame that shit songs like Shipping up to Boston and Sunshine Highway are popular when Murphys put out much better, socially important songs.

  • Shipping up to Boston and Sunshine Highway are good songs but I agree that Dropkick Murphys have much better songs out there that are very underrated. You know the media doesnt want us to think so any song with much meaning isnt getting out there, and if the song does have meaning nobody thinks or ponders on it but only on the sound of the song...sad enough.

  • Dropkick rules! love it :p Hails from Finland!

  • this song is done in all power chords right?

  • i think this so. i think its D, A, & E

  • They have the tabs on their band website you might want to check it out.

  • Dropkick murphys rule !

  • who said they are trying to be a pure punkband ?? .. for me they are more rock'n'roll working class band

  • You're a major tool. Go see them live and tell me that.

Making money is not the same as selling out.

  • i have seen them a bunch of times, so eat shit. and i understand making money is not the same as selling out, but when you make money by selling out , that is selling out.

  • hahahaha, grey angel likes usher and papa roach! DONT TALK TO ME ABOUT SHIT!!!!!

  • Bubsa, I'd characterize them the same way you do. But I don't really care how people label them. I love their music. They're straight-up fun.

  • They're a Boston-based Irish-inspired oi and rock & roll band. Let them take as many creative directions as they want. You're not in the band.

  • yes i am.

  • Yeah, and i am Al Barr.

  • ok, i am ken casey.

    fag.

  • oh man....you got me.

  • Good song!!

  • I saw what you posted on the gent's page above, and I don't think you think much about what you're saying. The Muslims are not all terrorists you fuck, and there is nothing that pisses me off more than some fanatical christian who denounces the entire population of Islam into terrorists.

There is just as many Muslim zealots as there are Christian zealots.

Sure, they are both bad, but being Christian is so very accepted.

    Piss off you fucking tosser.

Son Of Sam you know who that was?

  • Fuckin' a. However, as an American, I must say that infatuation with a heritage based on genealogy is due to the fact that our culture and history can get a bit boring. Getting into the politics and being a dick is one thing, but I don't see anything wrong with appreciating the music and history.

  • Hail!

  • im going to be the first person to say this, irish americans dont go around talking with fake irish accents and drinking large amounts of alcohol to fit an irish stereotype. i know, shocking, i can hardly believe it either.

its a heritage thing. your granddad's from ireland or italy or whatever, so your parents were raised in that culture, and so are you, to a lesser extent.

also, by your logic, an african isnt an african because he lives in detroit. now thats just stupid.

  • agree

  • Glad you pointed that out. The term plastic paddies bothers me. I have Scottish and Irish heritage. I'm proud of both of them but I do realize I'm an American first and foremost and don't pull a "Madonna"

  • irish people don't talk in fake irish accents or drink large amounts of alcohol either ;)

  • @sploogersmoof I'm tiredand pissed at all these Irish stereo-types,so,as soon as I finnish my beer,I'm gonna punch someone in the face!!!!!

  • @Nick9563 ur funny, i will follow ur lead

  • How can he wear a British flag when he sings Fields of Athenrye?

  • He is dressed as a British worker, so he has it as part of his uniform. He's not supporting the British at all. In fact, its more protest than anything.

  • It's a simple mis-understanding, if you look closely you can see a small hole (made to look like a bullet hole) above the flag, a means to make the flag a target more than anything else ya dig?

  • yehaaaaaaaaa

  • wow, i like the way this guy sings, it sounds oldschool....

    cool! like it XD

  • That's Irish-American for you, Mister!

  • fatscumfilth your just parobably some fat loser ass pussy jealous that more americans have more pride in our famiies than you who just sit around on your computer and talk shit...you dont know shit about irish americans...my grandmother is irish,my father and mother are, but and who gives a fuck what her dog is...dont hate us americans,be thankful you have irish in america who still give a fuck about ireland.....your the problem...people like you fuck over your own kind

  • i remember going to a party and one of my friends was wearing a DKM shirt. made me so happy.

  • Irish or American... what does it matter dudes!

    Dropkick Murphy's just rock!

  • The Irish have a home in The Bronx as well, I love this band. Just got into them, been a big Social D fan for a long time, i am in a band in texas used to live in NYC for awile and among the real Irish is the first time I ever felt at home, cant wait till we tour Boston, gonna get fucked up.

  • lead singer al barr hates it when hes called irish cos hes actually scottish-american

  • hes a damn good singer though, eh?

  • thats what im saying...i always thought the same bout that shirt...and i like the fact that you said you dont care if your not living or have lived in ireland u should feel the same...i'll knock back one for yuh!

  • no, you have to understand something, the irish needed a home desperately...where did they find it? BOSTON. i live in boston and trust me motherfucker we are much more irish than american, so shut your fekin face and suk a-rod.

  • You call yourself Irish? I bet you don't even know where Ireland is. Not even talking about heritage and stuff like that

  • Americans dont call themselves "american" they say I'm Irish or Italian or German, when the were not born there, there parents or grandparents were. :\

  • False, Mr. Dragon. Calling themselves Irish is short for Irish-American, German for German-American, etc.

  • they play in sweden tomorrow and im going to be there ;)

  • Me too. :D

  • don't they just have an irish roots, they r american :p

  • yeah there from the Boston area Quincey, MASS.

  • THE RULES OF THE IRISH ST. PATRICKS DAY

    1. Must consume beer

    2. Who cares of the day of the week drink

    3. If you are Irish or have some Irish blood in ya you have to consume a certian amount of beer in order to still be concidered Irish

    4. If you are underage and you parents are allowed to give you beer so Drink up Little Ones *warning beer should not be consumed by those under the age of 10*

    5. Drink till you cant drink no more

  • dude, there's so much more to being Irish than just drinking. There's an entire rich history to take pride in. Read some history.

  • i know its just a joke dude i love by background being irish rocks

  • hell yeah! My last name is Murphy!!!!!!!(seriously)

  • Haha, ya man. Me too.

  • sik

  • exactly! A long, vital, and at many times tragic history! Irish pride!!!!!!!!!

  • irish punk! love this shit.

  • how would any of you unemployed idiots no anything about going through the shit hole grind of blue collar work..stop thinking you can relate to the working man..just because you're broke does not mean you understand

  • IRELAND IRELAND IRELAND i love irish-folk(-punk)

  • i here u buddy

  • hehe

  • I agree with Green, i LOVE the DKM and i LOVE being irish

  • Why's he wearing a Union Jack on his shirt though?

  • Either as a joke, or they have started to forgive the English for the shit they have done.

  • There's a difference between being British and English.

  • yeah i know, it was just a typo

  • who says? tell that to bobby sands. there is no difference in brits or english they are both the same monster where the irish are concerned. now iv met some cool brits but 4 the most part they are all the same. watch those loving feet they will walk all over you...up the ra....

  • you obviously dont have a clue.

Theres nothin wrong with british people. In the past theyve been arseholes. so have most countries. its just a pointless grudge which most irish people dont even bother with anymore.

  • They continue to be arseholes. Ask Noel Maguire. Also, I never said there was anything wrong with british people. However, the British /government/, to be more specific, leaves something to be desired. Thanks for being opinionated and stuck up about it, though. That was relevant.
