Very sensitively sung! Kraus was a real artist. And he was 77 when he sang this.

Kraus was born 24 November 1927 – died 10 September 1999 and was thus about 62 at the time of this recording.

He was still singing well at 70, but died when he was approaching 72. The death of his wife in 1997 was a severe blow from which he barely recovered.
