  • awesome job...i felt everybit of the drums until the break toward the end, coulda opened up on some epic tom & cymbal work, halving the hits on the snare would've flavoured nicely and possibly a small bit of double bass fluttering on the outro...take this as constructive criticism rather than a knock to the talent you obviously have...keep up the great work!!!

  • зоебись!

  • good job on the cover but i have a question or two. why does your kick sound like its triggered? whats up with the strobe (not too bad btw)? and is there a light in your drum?

  • @mycrimsonregrets Thank you. What you hear in the bass drum is the equalization I used. I put a lot of higher end in the EQ for greater attack and it sounds real clicky or like a trigger, but it's all real. This is one of my earlier videos so I hadn't gotten a good sound out of my equipment yet. My later videos should sound worlds better! Strobes make it feel like I'm on stage. The light is a blacklight under my toms and it reflects on the kick head. Hope that helps. If not, ask!

  • That's really awesome, dude. Sounds amazingly good. =]

  • @iamcannonanthony Thanks a lot. Glad you liked it.

  • why does your bass drum sound so gay...

  • Dude! youur good.! xD

youu shood try to do the Acoustic to red sam.! (:

  • @jazmin8053 Thank you! I appreciate it. Yeah, I've thought about doing more Flyleaf but I've already done two. Maybe if they release some acoustic versions of their newest CD...there are some great tracks on that. Take care!

  • holy crap.. that sounds amazing. :P nice drum set too!

  • @Xboxgirl93 Thanks, it is a lot of fun to play. Thanks for watching!

    greetings from Spain

  • I cant help but comment this video again lol. You rock, keep it up!

  • thanks man, I appreciate all the views!

  • Fuckin love it

  • this is awesome now i gotta go peeeeeeeee

  • The kick's a bit lacking in bass - could be the crappy YouTube compression though. Nice playing anyway dude!

  • Well, thank you! I'm glad you liked it. Yeah, this was one of my first posts. I learned to EQ the kick a little bit better in follow on videos. Take care!

  • nice work man. The mix was also very good

  • Thank you. I appreciate your kind words.

  • oh! lol. i was about to say.

  • oh wow..AND your church has strobe lights. i definitely want to go to your church.

  • haha, no...the DW snare is from my church. All the videos are in my basement!

  • ah, i wish you'd use your dw in a song like this.

  • it's actually my church's so I don't always have access to it...

  • EXCELLENT! great use of double in there as well.

  • Thank you very much! I try to keep it tasteful.

  • I think I just had a seizure.

  • well, sorry I about that! I hope you're ok!

  • i not sure if i like this 1 better or the original acoustic (without drums) they bith amaizing, btw, great job on the drumms, 2 thumbs up, if i had more i would put them up too but as i dont 2 thumbs up!!!!

  • Well thank you for checking it out and the kind feedback. I really appreciate it! Take care.

  • glad you liked it! Thanks for the comment. God Bless!

  • Even more awesome than the first time I discovered this video. Purely excellent. Rock on, BIll.

  • Thanks Nate! This video does bring back good memories for me. It was a lot of fun making it. Maybe I'll do another flyleaf song sometime. Take care friend!

  • Your amazing man. I've never seen someone drum so well to an acoustic song. I can see God gave you an amazing talent^^

  • Thank you very much! I've thought about doing some more acoustic songs. Yes, God is good! I just feel humbled that God can use me in this way!

  • Do you play for your church? I do. If you do then I'm jealous of your church.

  • Ha, I do play for my church whenever they need another drummer. I'm on the move a lot, so I'm not home very often now. But Parkside is my church with pastor Alistair Begg...you might have heard him on the radio (Scottish accent). But keep on playing for God. There's no better way!

  • its hard to find a good drummer that ISNT famous on youtube these days, good fuckin work man, props (y)

  • thank you very much! It seems like you have to play the popular songs to get "famous"... I'll just keep posting my favorites!

  • perfect!!

  • I'm not a christian, but the only band that i like that is is The Devil Wears Prada. and i didn't know that they were christian until about three days ago.

  • Indeed, I know them as well. My favorite Christian band is Blindside...who knows maybe you'll like my band Ivanrest...we have 9 videos posted here.

  • yeah man. i like your band. you guys have talent. how old are yall/how long have yall been playing together? I've been playing guitar, drums piano and saxophone for about six years+.

  • Thank you for checking us out! Glad you like what you hear. We range from 21-26 years old (I'm 24) and we've been together for about a year and a half.

Very nice. You are an all-around musician! You can pretty much be your own band if you wanted to record your own CD! Maybe you should post some stuff!

  • God made u and Jesus saved u. come on man.

  • it sounds really good with the drums!

  • Thank you! I like playing to acoustic versions...no original drummer to compete with.

  • do you use some drum triggers? :)

  • Nope, everything you hear is natural and real!

  • this is awesome!

  • Very nice

  • yeah, they have some B-sides like "The Christmas Song" that are very powerful in the Christian sense of lyrics

  • yep.

all around me is apparently about Jesus.

  • you're an awesome drummer

  • hey, in wich of your videos are you using the yamaha aluminum snare???

  • Hello, unfortunately I only use it in my two snare comparison videos. However, I could send you some other recordings of it if you message me your e-mail address.

  • great job! lacey's such an amazing singer.

  • may i ask what type of hi hat that is?

  • yep, Paiste Signature Sound Edge hihats - 14 inches...all details in my profile!

  • this is brilliant

  • thank you very much!

  • awesome

  • oh.thx.what kind of software?

  • Pro Tools

  • can i ask how does your bass drum sound like that?

    thanks

  • I put some EQ and compression on it in my recording software after I record it.

  • Very nice (: I actually searched this because I'm starting lessons soon. If I decide to take this far, what brand do you recommend?

  • Thank you. Anything will work, but DW or Yamaha would be my top picks... Sonor is great...Pearl, anything maple. Best of luck to you!

  • 1:43, nice break!!! how long have you been playing??/

  • thanks man, I've been at it for 10 years.

  • it's so good! it's not overpowering but it's not boring at the same time. GREAT JOB.

  • awesome..

how did you get the neon on the bass?

I WANT TO HAVE ONE TOO :(

  • thanks...it's just a black light I placed under my floor toms. It does have a cool glow. I should put it back there!

  • oh...black backlight? why purple glow? :)

i'm gonna put one..tried it.. but my backlight EXPLODED (lol)

  • I guess that's just the way the light refracts in the clear drum heads... You'll probably need a new one...that exploded bulb won't do you much good!

  • oh ok thx man :D

  • LOVE this cover! Awesome!! 5 * m8

  • man i cant get over the sound of your drums, first maroon 5 now this, do you have a solo?

  • hey, thanks. I do not have a solo. Although I've thought about it. There are just so many solos on youtube that it would probably be quite boring to add yet another... I have more songs from my band coming, though. There will be some sweet drums on the next song!

  • I don't know but I think its not the best

  • this is awesome! it sounds very cool...nice adding the drums to the acoustic song!

  • Great drumming, but a little too fast for the song. Awesome work though

  • awesome job i never heard the acoustic version. hey wat are triggers. always hear it but dnt kno wat it means.

  • hey, triggers are electronic sensors that send a signal to an electronic drum machine (brain) whenever you hit a drum. Some drummers use the electronic sounds to either enhance or replace their drums. Lots of drummers do it live and it sounds really good, but most engineers will tell you it's cheating... It's more fun to go for the real sound. But every now and then you might want your tom to sound like a cowbell..?..haha

  • haha

    your base drum is blue.

    Nice cover!!

    I loved it :)

  • Love it, you've done this song justice :D well done!

  • You are amazing and a great asset to the drumming comunity. You do covers and explanations no one would think of doing. Stay cool and keep drumming.

    peace.

  • dude, thats gotta best the sickest improv ive ever seen, or even if you did make it up by your self that was amazing, hwo do oyu get your bass drum to sound like that? a towel or blanket inside?

  • Trigger? lol

  • hey, thanks for the comment. I get my bass drum to sound like that with an Evans EQ pad in the drum and a pretty loose batter head. Then it goes through some compression and EQ in my computer to really make it sound sweet. NO TRIGGERS, though!

  • My bad... :P

  • ha, no problem...I'm just a big fan of sounding all natural, especially in an age when so much music is electronic

  • It's really "clicky" though, for no trigger xP I like it...

  • dude, i love the sound of your snare, i hate the sound of mine, it's got an annoying ring after hitting it...

  • awesome fill @ 1:44

  • ha thanks. Everyone likes that fill but I found the fill at 0:53 to be my most successful stick work.... oh well!

  • I like the one @ :53 as well :)

  • haha, thanks. now I feel better!

  • Well that's good xD

  • dude u made the original guy look like crap dude that was wicked

  • This is definatly my favorite video on Youtube so far. You're awesome.

  • wow, thank you, that's quite a compliment. take care.

  • your hi hats sound sweet...

    living and playing for God

  • thanks a lot. yeah, there seem to be a lot of Christians out there. We're not alone!

  • Dude, you rock. that was amazing. i did drums to the acoustic Supernatural by Flyleaf, but haven't posted it yet. i will soon though. so keep rockin for God people

  • ..... so....good.... speechless.....

  • nice drumming good job

  • im also a christian and im proud to be one and nice cover a couple of my friends and me are trying to learn aa full cover for fences by paramore of red sam by flyleaf 4 a talent show at skool and its gunna be all girls

  • awesome, keep walking the narrow road!

  • damn thats good!

  • sounds good, but the drum levels can be lowered a tad, they shouldn't compete with the vocals.

  • That was awesome, I like how did not rock out the whole song but kept it cool and very creative. I just found out that you were a Christian right on, my dad is a pastor, great job of putting Jesus out there

  • hey, thanks man, when you think about it, what else matters? nothing. Good to know there's another Christian out there, take care

  • Ya there are not many people that would put it out there but I think it is my duty.

  • i love flyleaf, my entire family is very christian, my grandfather is a preacher.

your drumming was great, toms sound very electric, but very cool.

i like that you kept it relaxed and groove based with the acoustic version.

by the way, i'm atheist. but i can still enjoy christian music =]

  • so appropriate and not overpowering, beutiful dude

  • that was really good!

    like really creative :)

  • Your drumset sounds so great. I wish I could have gotten half as good of sound from my old acoustic. :P Great job covering the song. You really did it justice.

  • what kind of floor tom are you using i love how it dont ring for ever

  • Yamaha Maple Custom, 14" with Evans EC2 head. Yeah, it is my favorite tom to hit (the rest of the information is in the profile)

  • What snare do you use. I like the sound of it.

  • 13" Pearl Piccolo, yeah, I like it too

  • Dude, you have just inspired me to get back into drumming after almost 5 years of absence.

  • dude this is awsome YOU ROCK!

  • cleeeaaaaannnn az purifyed waterrr
