Kyler's family wants care his insurance company has deemed experimental. Do you think that if the govt takes over health care that it will pay for treatments they deem unnecessary or experimental? It won't - and you won't have any other options either.

The laffer curve does not indicate that you get results with every tax cut, only that there is a sweet spot in between a 0% and 100% tax rate where you maximize revenue.
Either side of that sweet spot returns LESS revenue... the CBO scoring I asked you to look at indicates that the Reagan and Bush tax cuts were actually on the descending end of the curve and did NOT return more revenue.

I think of Jayden Capewell and his family. Jayden was born premature and left to die by British state-run health care.
Their guidelines state that babies should not get intensive care if they are born at less than 23 weeks. Jayden was two days short of this, so despite the fact that he had the potential to thrive, he was denied medical care and left to die.
Peter Lord was denied life-saving stem cell treatment by the UK and is not allowed to pay for it himself.

US insurance companies cover care for premature babies. They don't say, "Born at 22 weeks and 5 days? Sorry, we require you to be born at 23 weeks."
Further, US hospitals that participate in Medicare (which is almost all of them) are required to provide life-saving emergency care regardless of the patients' ability to pay.

We don't need to cover everyone. Most people can take care of themselves. We just need to help those who can't help themselves.
Health insurance should be portable and competitive. We should be able to buy it like we buy auto insurance. Companies should have to compete to earn our business.
Maybe we should offer vouchers for the poor that let them purchase the insurance of their choice.

Kyler's family wants care his insurance company has deemed experimental. Do you think that if the govt takes over health care that it will pay for treatments they deem unnecessary or experimental? It won't - and you won't have any other options either.
Here, Kyler's parents have options. They can dispute this finding. They can sue. They can pay for the treatment themselves or raise the money thru charity. If they are poor, they can get Medicaid and see if the govt will cover this treatment.

That's true... but the ugly truth is that JFK's tax cuts were a Keynesian measure... google it.
They were running a budget deficit on purpose to jump start the economy and the only way they could convince JFK to do that was if they cut rates... rates were far, far higher than they are today, BTW.
The laffer curve does not indicate that you get results with every tax cut, only that there is a sweet spot in between a 0% and 100% tax rate where you maximize revenue.

We cannot change the past (unless you are a Progressive/Liberal/Socialist/ Communist revising it). The future is what needs to be taken care off. The only answer is lower taxes (40 % max not the current 60% paid by the productive like me when you add in all the hidden taxes). Smaller government (they cannot run anything correctly anyway). This is not the change that Obama promised. It's the same tired, old solution we've always heard from big government liberals. Viva Reagan, Che was a murderer!

Name calling is that the best you guys can come up with? I love a good honest debate but that is usually impossible with a Progressive, Liberal, Socialist or Communist. If your ideas werent so bad you would not have to reinvent yourselves every few years. Embrace the Conservative core values of low taxes, smaller government and a strong military. The liberal answer lets throw more money at the problem. Conservatives will demote their failures. Liberals promote their failures.

Well, I read the WSJ, the NYT and the Seattle Times everyday.
I also read Salon, Slate, HotAir, ThinkProgress, Politico and local blogs on a regular basis.
I listen to Glenn Beck most mornings from 8-9 and NPR for most of the day after that.
I also watch C-Span and read bills that interest me.
What sources do you get your facts from?

Funny the left said the same things about and attacked Reagan that they are now doing with Palin and Reagan started the last good economic run that lasted till a few years ago. If Low Taxes, Less Government and a strong Military are dumb, then lets get dumb! I agree with listening to both sides then coming to your own conclusion. Well, the 'Golden Age of Capitalism' was actually the post war period where we followed the economic principles of Keynes and the CBO determined in 2003 that Reaganomics and supply side nonsense actually didn't have a net positive effect on the economy, so...

@elseedyminotaur Re: Capitalism vs. Socialism - I have lived and prospered under Capitalism and would not have it any other way. All my Chinese, Soviet and Cuban friends agree with me as they would not want to suffer under that system again! A poor Capitalist is better off than a middle class Socialist if there was such a thing. Most of us will never be rich but at least you do have a chance of getting rich under a Capitalist system if you are smart have a little luck and work hard.

Keynesian economics is not socialist. It's capitalism.
And when we followed it as a nation EVERYONE did better.
As Nixon said in the late 60's, 'We're all Keynesian's now.'
Reaganomics did not work. Read the CBO dynamic scoring in 2003 to see exactly why.
