Israel is so beautiful. I have never been there but one day soon I will. It's a hard thing to be Hebrew and cut off from the land. I love this camcorder and it will replace my broken Canon camcorder. I am hard on them. Between rappelling off of cliffs, bike riding, and strapping them to my guns for awesome footage, I can never keep one working. Hopefully the Kodak Playsport will take the hits.

Its really rare for a waterproof camera to have a good sound, i really hesitate beetwen Gopro hd and this Kodak Playsport because the Gopro camera has a poor sound, and she'es expensive, but I cant find accessories to set this playsport on the side of a helmet.. does anyone know where I might find this type of accessory helmet?

Indeed it is very good, this accessory looks rigid and ajustable, it's a good thing to stabilize the image on the front of my helmet!! and it is a good thing to be able to put the camera near our field of vision... It may not be "done for good" if you take it beyond 3m depth, but it is quite risky. If just a little bit of water gets in, you may be able to salvage it by following proper drying instructions.

Also, great video! I had no idea that southern Israel had such beautiful reefs.

@mikeyrafferty the camera is made for the pressure of 10 feet so if you go below 10 feet you have the chance of the water pressure basicaly beating the camera. it would be done for good

@wmuav8tor A bit. The battery is great, though. Lasts a good long while, and can be replaced with a spare when it runs dry.

do you have to take any precautions before taking it into the water, does the battery gate feel firmly waterproof?

@spykerfan21 I've never felt any problem with it (and boy did I worry!). There's a rubber frame around the doors that covers the battery/ports.

PS The quality of this cam is really VERY good!

I have Kodak zi6 (the quality is also fantastic!), but the water-resist cam I think will be better in the travelling (rain etc)!

@stomozan The only quality problems are these:

1) The low light performance isn't amazing, but not too bad. Filming indoors is always not as good as in the sun

2) no macro function, so filming anything closer than 1 meter will be a little blurry (but not enough to really bother)

3) When I film dark things, like black dogs, it's hard to see the different features on their faces (like the eyes, nose).

@stomozan Yes it was fine. The instructions even said that salt-water is okay but to wash it off in fresh water afterward.
