I don't understand. When I play it I make way less smoke and yet I gain WAY more EGO points :S

Try to minimize burning rubber items (i.e. the boots, soccer ball, etc). Also, burning none broken items generate more ego points I think...

I've been trying to this level for ages, and I still haven't managed it.

Just about everyone I talk to have trouble with second stage until it finally clicked. In the video, I was shooting for Eco clear so I can't let the fire go on for too long with the lid open. If you are just trying to beat the level the trick is simply compact the trash as much as possible and let the fire burn as much as possible.
