We don't, either. Joe threw them off. It's kind of funny though how when Miami, LSU, or Florida State has players get into trouble, they're "bad boys" or "cool", but when Penn State does, ESPN launches a scathing report against us. And when Penn State's players NEVER got into trouble, we were considered "whitebread" or "uncool", while with Michigan or Nebraska it's "tradition" and "class". The media just hates Penn State. But that's fine, we're winning games and graduating most of our players.
Temple hasn't beaten Penn State since 1941, and Penn State's winning streak continues to this day, a much longer winning streak than Michigan's famed 9-game winning streak over Penn State. But this year Temple actually played football. They looked alot like Appalachian State as far as their play style.
Was at the game yesterday, and it was mostly Penn State fans, which was good. We know Temple isn't Penn State, thats why we had the "We Are....Penn State" going throughout the stadium. Overall it was a fun time in Philly, the Temple fans were few and far between so it basically seemed like a PSU home game.
Ah where to start. I was at the game yesterday and all I can say is nice try. It was nice to see a few PSU fans in the middle of the Temple student section. Way too much hype for this game on the Temple side. And no shit you "aren't" Penn State, I'm glad you can state the obvious. I have say that the stadium is was about 90% PSU fans. Good game, everybody was friendly, I can't complain. WE ARE PENN STATE.
I love how all PSU fans bring up the fact that we play at the Eagles Stadium. Temple owns a piece of it, and the state of PA provided a grant for construction while knowing it would serve a purpose for the Eagles and Temple University.
I am a PSU fan and I will be at the game. I love you Temple fans. I wish there more of you to actually show up your games. I love the part that says "Our House". IT should read your "rented" house that the Eagles only let you use out if pitty. Cherry out? You would think Temple's colors had green because in this video you see so much green in the EMPTY stands! PSU in a romp!
That came out a lot harsher than I had planned. I really do hope for good things for Temple, but if you'll excuse me it's game week so I'm getting fired up. That's what this video did for me, a Penn Satte fan!
Alas, I wasn't trying to be funny. That's just the sad truth at crappy valley. What a dirty program! They're as bad as the U. of Miami criminals from the late 80's.
Timbucky, seriously man. I hope you're not a fellow PSU student or an alumnus from Penn State. Learn some class and leave the Temple Fans alone. Maybe in a few years after you graduate from high school you can attend one of these two schools.
If you would like to lecture me on class from your high horse I would certainly hope that you would hold yourself to a higher standard while making fun of North Philadelphia's tragic murder statistics.
Alright buddy, point taken and very valid, haha. Anyway, class aside, is anyone else not really excited what-so-ever about this game? That's the vibe on campus, as this game will probably be rather uneventful and only force me to roll out of bed earlier. Hopefully Clark/Devlin get some PT and show promise for next year though. It seems like Temple is trying to hold this game up as a big rivalry, and no flaming, but it really isn't to PSU fans.
As for the game, I just hope there aren't any injuries. Here's to a hard fought game and good luck every week but this saturday. Being a rabid PSU hoops fan I may have an idea of what you are competing with (being the Eagles are the dominant story in Philly, PSU football is the dominant force in Happy Valley... be it football season or not).
Your team seems to be building up momentum and hopefully turning that corner next season. PSU hoops are also hoping to turn the corner this season with a new found athleticism under Pringle, Battle, Claxton, Jones, Cornley, Jackson, etc.
Yea you are right teg128, i mean Temple is so uncompetitive this year that they held UConn (ranked #13 in the BCS and ahead of #23 PSU)to 22 points, and should have actually won with a touchdown, but was called back by a blown call by the refs!
Yea I guess Temple is such a bad team we should not even be playing the all mighty Penn State. I guess we will see on Saturday...
WOW. Thanks for the laugh. Hilarious to see all the empty seats! Thought it was practice....Let Temple think they're competitive for another few days. Go State--beat the birds.
state penn "fans" are such trash. don't think you're going to come here and treat us like you treated the ohio state fans. you'll be in for a surprise and lucky to leave without medical treatment
PSU STUDENTS are the ones who make victims of Ohio State fans and shame on them. Penn State FANS, especially the ones that "travel" are very classy and I expect there to be no incidents this weekend.
if PSU was not heading to Philly to play temple, i guarantee the place wouldnt sell out. it hasnt all year for Temple games, the interest is because PSU is a traditional powerhouse and a lot of people in Philly are PSU alums.
Once again you obviously cannot read TimBucky? It says, " This is OUR House. And actually Lincoln Financial Field was built on the fact that it would not only serve a purpose for the Eagles, but also as a stadium for the Temple Owls.
As for your second post, As Temple fans realizing that 75% of the stadium would be Pro PSU, why would we not try and do something to stop it. We obviously don't like them taking over our stadium for a Temple Home Game.
Lincoln Financial Field was built for the Philadelphia Eagles, the fact that Temple happens to play there also is a side-note. There can be no argument about that. It is YOUR house in the sense that it happens to be where you play your games, but that is all.
Observation: You Owl fans sure talk a lot of smack for a program who has a record of 7-48 (.127) since 2003. It is not our hall-of-fame coach who is senile, it's you.
You all stereotype TU as a horrible team, yet you have no knowledge has to the change they have made from last season to this. Its not going to be a blowout.
Couple quick questions:
1) Who the next PissSU player thats going to get in trouble with the law?
2) Is your senile coach going to get into a road rage on his way to TU?
3) Anything's possible. What happened against Illinois?
Thats all. Other than that, it WILL be a GOOD GAME.
In 4 games this year, Temple has drawn 88,000 fans. Penn State drew an AVERAGE of 108,000 fans per game this year, totaling over three quarters of a million fans. With this game sold out and a crowd of close to 70,000 expected it is foolish to think that even a majority of these fans will be rooting for Temple. Do 70,000 Temple fans even exist? This will be a home game for Penn State. This will be a white-out for Penn State. And this will be a win for Penn State.
Uh Hi there sport, I don't recall ever saying the majority would be Temple Fans. I think the only foolish thing here are the accusations you are making.
I think I pretty much covered your average 108,000 fans by saying 110,000. Then by saying "they" are coming, obviously the large amounts of PSU fans that will attend.
timbucky, did you ever think that's maybe because their are so many options in philadelphia, whereas there is absolutely nothing else to do in that shithole where state penn sits? oops, i forgot, state penn people don't or can't think.
You can choose to feel that Temple's lack of a fan base is because it is located in a large city with several 'options'. I'm sure that's also why there aren't any Boston College, Miami, or USC fans. On the other hand, it could be because Temple football is one of the most anemic programs in Division 1 sports.
You guys are mistaken. It is the Eagles' stadium. Not yours.
