Originally the Engine Company hooked up to the standpipe on Side A of the building, if you watch closely at around 0:31 into the video you will see water start spraying just above the green minivan. That would be the standpipe connections blowing out of the wall and all the water meant for the attack crew spraying all over the place. The reason it took an extended amount of time to get water on the fire was because 8's Engine crew had to then run a leader line into the building.
Did those members inside that bedroom get out? It looks like it was ready to light up right after they ventilated, like the two on either side of em'. I didn't see any steam til a minute or so after it lit.
