@ChistiMungta deobandis just dont see milad as wajib. which is isnt. the shafi position (im a shafi) is that mawlid is bidah but not a bidah that goes against quran and sunnah. in and of itself it is ok to do so long as it is not seen as wajib and acts done are not taken to excess and violate sharia.

it is best to celebrate our prophet (saw) as often as possible and not to limit it to a certain day. as per the quran, Allah and his angels are performing salat upon the messenger (saw) constantly
