  • havent seen mahe for 10 yers now how is president down there wen i left last time renne was it still for his 8 year or someting

  • Thanks a lot

  • Nice video, but I would appreciate some cabin views too. Not only to the cockpit. I have never seen a Twotter inside.

  • We're going back later this year. I'll film it then.

  • haha that's my dad! what a find. and seftonwallet your facts are spot on, except we're back in england now.

  • That's fantastic. This flight was the best ever.

    Is he still flying?

  • nah, he stopped a couple of years ago when we came back. he works auditing airlines now. i showed him this though and he loves it. brings back all the memories of the approach!

  • We're thinking of going back this year. Is it still a great place for a holiday?

  • hope i will be a pilot on this soon

  • Good luck!

    I hope you do it.

  • thanks a lot

  • Done this flight a few times, it can be a bit bumpy coming into Mahe if the wind is rolling down the mountain.

  • WOW, it sure brings back great memories of a wonderful holiday; i can advise you also a helicopter flight; a bit more expensive, but awesome!!!

  • I've flown this route too..:)

But it was in 2003, though.:D

  • how long does the flight take?

  • The flight takes about 20 minutes.

  • There is no luxury, its cramped, its hot yet its the best flight i've been on in my life! the view is fantastic! i really want to go back there now!

  • ah! this brings back memories fo just a few weeks ago when i made that trip from Mahe to Praslin i loved every minute of it!! ever get the opportunity to go you gotta take it!!

  • The captain of the DH Twin Otter was 63 and originally from Yorkshire. He had to retire from flying airliners in Europe at 60, so he joines Air Seychelles. Check out my video of the return trip, Praslin to Mahe.

  • i must have done this journey hundreds of times now.best time for to fly is during monsoon storms where you can experience the real good skills of the seychellois pilots.going seychelles in 2weeks,see y'all :-D

  • that's right.. was on this route for a couple of times ..last year we had a early morning flight, after a very stormy night.. it was hella shaky but the seychellois pilot kept calm as always..

@seftonwallet: thank you for sharing these memories!!

  • Well that settles it: I love the Twin Otter, and I've never been to the Seychelles. Must go!!

  • seychelles iz well nice n hot so...enjoy ur honeymoon ther.... my mum n dad cum from der

  • This is so exciting to see as i'm going to be doing this flight in 3 months fo my honeymoon!!! It looks amazing!

  • Thanks for sharing. This captures the subtleties of being in the Seychelles.

  • Great video! Brings back many childhood memories of living in a remote community in Northern Canada. Air services were provided by a Twin Otter. Love the ROAR when it takes off. Feels like you're in bush plane. This aircraft climbs at a rate of 1600ft per minute and can withstand exterior temperatures of -60*C!

Something "romantic" about this plane! You often see it on TV documentaries or pictures of exotic places like jungles of Africa, Antarctica, the mountains in Nepal, tropical islands
