I love the song, just not the video. :P This isn't what my mind percepted. Here is what I really had in mind when I listened to this song, just music: a poor couple, not yet married, but engaged. The boy works as a boatman, and he is called to war, and never comes back. The song is taking place when the war is over and the girl has figured out that her true love isn't ever coming back. This is her lament to him. Well, that's that, I suppose. :)

pretty sure i get the music. i have it on my ipod and it is one of my favorites.

it is the music i love, i am a singer and a performer and when i hear it i enjoy it.

the music video is where i disagree. not every song needs a music video and this is one of them. i personally think it is better without picture and the listening of the words and the rhythm of the song make it better. if i had a choice i would have put the company logo on this song on youtube instead

Thanks for your reply - I most definately agree with you there - my job is making music videos - high profile ones too for many artists you would have heard of too - However we are just cheating the listener of his or her own interpretation of the music they hear - there is nothing wrong with the notion that you suggest - ie making your own visual reference using nothing more than the power of ones imagination
