  • Damn what a great version, bono was really on from this concert, just listen to the end from 3:12 onwards that just ZooTV falsetto right there.

  • she must be an acting student or something, a real belly dancer would never have touched him, and she's not very good. she does a lot of turns like Ansuya and that's it. Usually Dolphina tours with U2, as she is married to one of the band members.

  • @okaysnoopy um..no, you've got that totally wrong. Edge married Morleigh Steinberg, who's a modern dancer, and dolphina never toured w/ u2

  • Nice

  • You go girl - that takes guts - and a great version of Mysterious Ways to boot

  • thanx stoner529 :) from Lillestrøm in Norway:)

    U2 4 ever!

  • Yeah, it's the spirit, alright. But bellydancers/bellydance students can't help but notice the lack of technique. She did after all, call herself a bellydancer. It was all spinning, and no shimmies.

  • Yup. No shimmies, no locks, no undulations, no, erm...nothing. I'm all for having a good time, but there are a lot more talented dancers who could have used the opportunity and the exposure.

  • It's not about "opportunity" and "exposure," it's about a fan having a special moment... And Bono sure looked like he was having a blast!

  • how do ya pre plan that?

  • Saying this girl has no technique is like saying Bono didn't choreograph the last chorus in the "Pride (In the Name of Love)" video -- missing the point. It's the spirit that counts.

  • HEY, I know that dancer!

    db9

  • ...I have slow danced with him 3 other times during Elevation shows, where unfortunately it seems there were no videos taken.

Thanks for finding this and posting it....very surprising to see it on YouTube!!

    Melissa

  • From one U2 Melissa to another, you freaken rocked! You put on a great show & had fun. Isn't that what it's all about? Cheers! -Mel (You know which one *wink*)

  • Yes, I was 17, Bono and I had pre-arranged it, and I was the only other bellydancer on the Popmart tour besides Morleigh. I was young, and Bono was having a good time playing around onstage...so I went along with it. Sorry for the lack of "technique," but it was one of the best nights of my life...

  • Geez, every year you're going to pull out your arse that you're the "belly dancer" in the video. We get it. You've had you 15 minutes of fame. Now move on.

  • What are you getting at?

  • the chick is on multiple sites and it's always the same thing. I danced on stage with U2. Great. Glad you had the chance, but it's really not about you, it's about the band. But if she insist on letting us know about "that's me" over and over again; then I think it's only fair to comment "shut up about it" and oh here another thing "you weren't very good - nothing to brag about with your dancing"

  • well i think you should just let her be :-)

  • msdw59 -

    Be nice.

U2 fans shouldn't bash other U2 fans no matter how excited they are about celebrating one's connection to the band.

    (diamond)

  • The hell with being nice! She's a rubbish dancer. stiff as a stick she was.

  • msdw59-

The girl you're attempting to ignornatly and publicly excoriate is a friend of mine.

She did ask me to post this post, I'm doing it on my own volition.

Did you even attend the Tampa 1997 PopMart Show?

Did read the part where this dancer claimed "not to even be a belly dancer" but only a 17 yr old girl that wanted a personal connection with Bono and did?

Do you think the majority of fans that attended that show would want to know more about her?

    ponder those

    diamond

  • Typical bullshit reply... So bleeping what she's a friend of yours.

Did I attend POP in Tampa? Hell no, But I did attend in NY!

How many sites has she lead with the same bullshit line "oh, I'm not a danceer - but that's me!?"

And the majority of fans wouldn't not be interested in knowing more about her - it's all about the band.

So, in closing bugger that! And the bitch, can't dance!

(That comments is being posted to exact my pound of flesh from your stiff arse friend)

  • So you weren't there, don't know the girl,or if the fans would want to know more about her story as *you* werent there. You choose to ignore the comments made by the fans in this thread.

Here's what 1 fan said who was there Bono helped a fan ..dressed as a harem girl onstage and she danced around him. Lucky girl! You have came across as a miserable bloke and should consider switching your fanship to Bon Jovi or Brett Michaels-based on your posted comments.

    tko

  • If your not interested in who it is, or other fans in general, then don't hang out on this video.

If all you are interested in is the band then only watch videos that are just of them.

Part of what most people find truly endearing about this band is the connections they are able to make with their audience, clearly you are jealous at never having made one of these connections so maybe you should wipe the dorito crumbs off your muumuu, leave the keyboard and make a friend.

  • Jealousy, not at all. Just reponding to the comments. I made my comments months ago an d yet some of you bitches are still responding to that. I haven't watched this particular video in months. But, I have responded to the assine responses to my comments (made ages ago). Don't rag on my friend "blah, blah, blah" She said she wasn't a dancer, blah, blah, blah. U2 fans should be nice (that one really got me). Like all U2 fans are a bunch a pussies (not!) But, some of you lot are.

  • I'm w jesusmatt, he nailed it on the head. U2 is about tolerance, dreaming out loud, forgiveness, oneness, accepting fans' imperfections and or blunders on occasions, and all in one- inclusiveness

msdw59 you needed to be called out on this.

It's that simple, fan superiority and condescending remarks are not U2, esp Bono

Take comments like these as friendly advice from fellow U2 fans and realize as there is still room enough for you even after the mean things you posted

    tko

  • friendly advice indeed. More like a "friend" that has been put up to defend a "friends" rubbish dancing. I still hold firm to my original opionion. The biotch can't dance. Period end of story. And that's where my intollerence begins and ends. Other's will agree (Oneness/Inclusiveness)

  • Oh and I forgot one more thing. Since we are all one big happy family. I forgive her for her rubbish dancing. Ha

  • As Bono overlooked and didn't have a problem with it-so should you. The more verbal swipes you take here, the more you spiral downward.

    tko

  • just making sure that you folks don't fall for the delusion that is your world. Bono I'm sure thought he was getting more than a stiff arse. Poor him. And you indeed are either the chick herself (on another id) or just lame to keep defending the chick and her lame arse dancing.

  • No, wrong again, Einstein.

    tko

  • why was bono "playing around onstage" with a 17 year old? How dissipoiting!

  • does this mean you were the dancer in this tampa show?

  • Morleigh danced pregnant for Edge's birthday at the Popmart show in Helsinki, I was 17 when I danced and this took place in Tampa.

  • He says he has a fondness for bellydancers.

  • No, not a belly dancer. I couldn't see much, but from what I could see there is not a lot of real technique going on there. Maybe a friend of the band who is a model and is just starting lessons. Boy, did she get lucky or what?!
