  • Could this split 1 hdmi cable box to 2 hdmi TV's, So i can run 1 cable box to 2 TV,s

  • @mwhengrn The Sewell 1x2 HDMI Splitter (SW-23500) simultaneously powers 2 displays.

  • i have this. i use it to capture gameplay with my ps3. works well.

  • @sewelldirect I just received mine in the mail, and is it ok to not have the AC power cord plugged in because it's working perfectly fine without it

  • So I just got the new HDMI splitter for my Ps3 and and capture card. But every time I plug it in. It just flashes a red light and goes off. What do I need to do about this?

  • @ZeroEffortVideos I would need a little more information to give you any indepth troubleshooting advice. My recommendation would be to give our technical support department a call.

  • what movie into your tv?

  • I've used this splitter for over a year with no issues. Great splitter.

    input: xbox360

    output1:monitor

output2:Black Magic Intensity Pro capture card

  • Does anyone know how to get past the HDCP the ps3 has I know this is odd to bring up here but I am doing my best to figure out how to.

  • @NexusARC This 1x2 HDMI splitter should split the signal just fine for your PS3. It handles an HDCP signal without a problem.

  • @sewelldirect nope, this splitter won't handle HDCP. Second screen(TV/capture card) will just flash showing HDCP and that's it. I have same splitter, and my capture card is flashing on and off with HDCP message in the middle of the screen. I already spent 200 quid in order to capture some ps3 gameplay, and I am yet to succeed :D

  • @muziqaz The splitter does support HDCP, but it sounds like your capture card does not (which is common). I would suggest asking the manufacturer of your capture card if they have information about how to use it to capture gameplay.

  • @sewelldirect my capture card supports hdcp as it works fine without the splitter.

  • @muziqaz Then it is possible that there is something wrong with the splitter. The splitter will take the information from the two outputs (display and capture card) and build a composite EDID based on the capability of the two. It then feeds that composite back to the source (PS3) and your PlayStation should send a compatible signal. I'd recommend setting up a return so that we can test the splitter.

  • can the hdmi splitter connect to the turtle beaches

  • is there support for sound over hdmi

  • @sbvikings30 Yes, the splitter repeats the full HDMI signal including handshaking and audio.

  • what is splitter for?

  • i wanted to connect the avermedia hddvr to my xbox and the to my monitor. so i plugged the xbox into the input and then plugged my dvr and monitor into the output. the capture card showed up on my pc but when i switch inputs to my monitor, it didnt show up.

  • @BringMeTheHorizonnn I'm not sure what the issue is with your setup precisely, I'd recommend giving our technical support department a call.

  • Can i use this to record on the PS3 through HDMI?

  • @thetrackkilla I'm not sure what you mean by that. This splitter just takes a single HDMI signal and sends it out on two different channels. If you need to send signal from the single HDMI port on a PS3 to both a display and a DVR this would work just fine. If you're thinking of something different it may or may not work, you can give our technical support department a call with any questions.

  • @sewelldirect wait it can connect a console to a dvr and display? i thought it just connected to 2 displays only

  • @BringMeTheHorizonnn Yes you can also connect it to a DVR. Anything with HDMI inputs counts (in this case) as a display.

  • I read on your website that its has HDCP (or some crap) which protects against piracy. My goal for a splitter is to have my xbox running(lag free) on my tv so that i can play whilst simultaneously having it playing the computer so i can record it. The piracy protection wont interfere with the capture card will it.

  • @0FlowersByIrene0 That shouldn't be a problem as long as that capture card has an HDMI input port.

  • @sewelldirect It does :)

  • Ugh, I just can't get 5.1 audio trhough any HDMI splittler. Bleah

  • nice video, will be getting this : )

  • hey,

do you know (not sure that it exist) a splitter that turns a HDMI into a HDMI and a AV cable? i realy wanna have that cuz i wanna record ps3 gameplay (with a dazzle or somthin like that) without having to change to much cables.

    hope you can help me.

  • @sarranoob Unfortunately not. HDMI has a special content protection signal that has to be stripped out when converting to an analog format. For that reason most HDMI to VGA/RCA/DVI adapters are no longer on the market due to copyright issues.

  • @sarranoob use a component cable and hd pvr by haupauge you can stil record and play in hd that way

  • @sarranoob im not sure if this would work but anyway. if you hook up youre cap device to a scart socket and then have that scart lead going to the xbox that would then run off av. you will need a"Scart Adapter Switchable Plug to Socket" so then that will be running on the av. so now you have youre hdmi cable in the xbox going to the tv running through the hdmi input chanel. so you should be able to record through the av chanal while playing on the hdmi input chanel. not sure if it will work tho

  • what about the audio?

  • @XY237 The splitter sends out the same HDMI signal that it gets in, audio included.

  • FYI - I used this splitter from my game room tv to an outdoor tv that I just mounted. I used a 40 foot HDMI cable and everything worked perfectly. Unfortunately this was my second splitter purchased. the first one I bought was from a different company and it didn't work. This splitter worked great!

  • Do you only need a powered splitter if you use long HDMI cables?

  • @JR1994997 In most cases you need a powered splitter, there are ones out there that are unpowered and they only bring sound, so do your research before purchasing. You will need a splitter with a built-in repeater if you have excessively long cables (50ft.+).

  • if you use a hdmi splitter does that mean you can have 2 displays showing

ps3>hdmi>splitter>hdmi into monitor > hdmi inito television

so will you be able to display to pictures at once ?

  • @xTheorizedIHD Yes, this will allow to you display your PS3 on two different displays. You will get the same picture on both displays.

  • @sewelldirect same picture and sound? im looking for something to shoot a hdmi cable back to my computer to record video

  • is it possible to get it the other way around? my monitor has 1 input but i have a hd pvr and a ps3? any solutions

  • @arvinda25 hdmi switch

  • @arvinda25 yes, you can always look at the SW-28818. It is an HDMi 3x1 Splitter which allows you to switch between 3 different sources and use the same monitor/TV

  • @arvinda25 im thinking of getting this then get a hdmi to component converter so I run one end into my tv and the other into my pvr.

  • @arvinda25 a pvr plugs into your PC and your tv, not your tv twice

  • What does the power slot plug into? An outlet?

  • @DualHazzarD2 Yes the power adapter which plugs into the splitter plugs in to a power outlet.

  • @sewelldirect Thanks for replying. Since you made this video I purchased this item and currently use it for my AVerMedia HD Capture Card. It works perfect and have had no problems. Thanks!

  • About how much for a splitter?

  • haha.... no

  • i have a question... i wanna get the splitter, for 2 hdmi monitors... WIll this work for my mac and 2 monitors.

  • The demo used DVD signal, which is not a HD signal, of course it can reach 50ft away. But for 1080P, it is a different story........

  • @eight95630 we used an upscaling DVD player outputting 1080i. its true, we didn't do 1080p in the video, but we guarantee it will work at normal lengths (15 ft) or with a booster if you're going over this much cable. We just wanted to demonstrate that this splitter is extremely high quality, even when NO boosters are present.

  • @guitarguy8200

yeah but probably it won't be a extension o your screen but the same picture in 2 screens
