****** A Fenomenal Copy ****** Can sound quite real in the hands of a talent representing a proper mood to inspire righteous people in their good will in believing right replicas of great mystics.
I would suggest You concentrate should the opportunity arise to evaluate intervalthinking to create a tonal style to be recognized Yours without anxiety nor infringing details. You need to invent a continuation of a movement to stay.
lol, yes! You can actually download the Upbeat live lectures, Esa-Pekka, Yefim Bronfman and Steven Stucky discuss the piano concerto, as well as The Debussy prelude arrangements and Stucky's 'Les Noces' arrangement from the concert program. The LA Phil website has them (and many others) up as podcasts.
So I was just reading your conversation with mariemytch, by any chance do you have the recording of Salonen's Piano Concerto, the CD that along with the piano concerto, includes Dichotomie and Helix? I got mine back in April when I went to see the Premiere of Salonen's Violin Concerto (where he happened to also conduct Beethoven's 5th :D) and that same concert, Salonen was going to be at the LA Phil store signing CDs, so I rushed there and was the first person in line and he signed my CD! :)
Yes, he was talking abut the piano-viola 'conversation' in the piano concerto, and made reference to the endless series of jokes violists are subjected to: How is playing the viola in the orchestra similar to farting in a wetsuit: Nobody really notices, but it gives a warming feeling.
He also used the joke about virtuosity from this interview several times during the interviews that night.
Was that the collab. with Bill Viola? I wish I had been aware of it when it happened.
I would have loved to see it. I was able to see Salonen's piano concerto at the WDCH in late May though, He and Yefim answered questions w/ the audience afterward as well :)
Yes, I've read his blog over on the Philharmonia site. It'll be interesting to see what he does with them, though I heard the concert in Leeds was a bit of a nightmare!
Sorry about audioproblem.

Yes, it was the Sellars-Salonen-Viola production of Tristan.
Actually, my thesis is on that production.
Salonen has a great sense of humor !
mariemytch 3 years ago
Yes, he seems to! :) Who knew we'd go to a concert and end up discussing farting in a wetsuit?
What degree are you working on?
FlutistMary 3 years ago
Music was too powerful for them.
The audience reacted pretty strongly when he directed Tristan at the Paris Opera.

Lol, that and the lack of air conditioning.

That can't be !
I know some critics don't like him.
mariemytch 3 years ago
Some critics just don't like anyone.
The Leeds concert was beyond his control though, apparently two audience members fainted in the middle of the performance! O.O
FlutistMary 3 years ago
Unfortunately not, I live too far !
He is now directing the London Philarmonia.
He's one of the greatest artists I've ever met.

You're welcome! Are you going to see any of the LA Phil concerts this season?

Salonen is the greatest !
