The quintessentially French nature of these performances provides the perfect demonstration of the profoundly romantic nature of the master Bach when played in a purely baroque style.

I like this and much prefer it to Catrin Finch's version. You can actually play a few of the the slower movements on the lever harp but I've yet to do all of the pieces.

He plays beautifully but there's more. The rapid notes are exquisitely expressed and melodiously shaped but behind that, the gentle swaying of the harp and his body also portrays the more gradual underlying harmonic rhythms of key changes. This is a real musician who can hear and build inspiration on his knowledge!
