  • I just bought the same holster, but the manufacturer is Vegaholsters, It's a license built, I hope they have the same quality as the Bianchi as the Bianchi one rocks, Used it in service and its good!

  • Just bought one at my local surplus store (new buisness) for 25 Mr. Mighty Joes. Not as slow as you made it look sooch.

    Appears new.

  • in case you didnt know, the D ring can be tucked under the flap to secure it shut

  • Grabbed one of these on the strength of your review. Using it with my Sig GSR Target (1911) and it fits beautifully and SECURELY on the hip. Obviously not something for concealment, but for hitting the range or running around on the farm, you simply cannot beat it. I found mine for under $50. Thanks for the great, detailed review.

  • I got one from a Pawn Shop's table at a gun show for $5, surprised me no one had snagged it before I got there.

  • Thanks for the great review! I think for daily wear in a low threat environment there is nothing better for protecting a pistol.

When I was trained in the AF these were called "suicide holsters" because they are so slow to draw. When deployed we always used Serpa holsters, because your gun is NOT going anywhere and you can draw very fast in a stressful situation. Unfortunately the Serpa also leaves your weapon exposed to the elements.

  • @HossNM Yeah, I used a serpa too! fits the gun rock solid and all, but sometimes you don't always need to draw it as fast as you can. Both have their pros and cons, alternatively, you can get a thumb strap for the M-12 and It's almost as fast as the serpa.

  • @NeoXus299 Thanks for the heads up- I just watched Sootch's video on the thumb strap, and it looks awesome. I think this is a good solution for anyone, combining protection and quick draw-ability. Also, thanks Sootch for such a complete review on this holster and its many options.

  • @HossNM One thing I noticed with my holster is that the M92 I have does not fall out, I can be upside down with the "flap/cover" completely removed and my gun will stay in the holster, maybe because it's brand new, however this works good and makes a quick draw, I now use it without the flap/cover and I'm using a retention lanyard on the gun in case it falls out (which probably does not occur naturally)

  • retarded southerner

  • hell yeah! i got one of these two days ago at a military surplus for $42. the the holster fits my 1911 beautifullyand i have yet to find one that protects my gun better. great buy.

  • Like your videos and nutnfancy for sure, although he strays quite abit or gets off task. I notice you try extremely hard to stay on task. I for one appreciate that very much!

  • NOOOOOOOO NOT THE COLT !

  • i have buy one of these this is not a quick draw but very useful for protecting my 1911 serie 90 by the way great review

  • HI! is there any diference between UM-84 and UM-84/92. on both it stands> universal holster. I got a brand new one UM-84/92 bit my m1911 dose not fit...:(

    Thank you!

  • My Glock 19 fits in my ebay M12 holster, I got it for $8. Its like almost new! I LOVE IT! Works great for hiking and humping a few klicks.

  • 11.99 at us calvary

  • @sootch just saw this vid on ebay thought you might want to know under user vinbeer

  • Glad I found your video on this; since I'm not likely to "pack" my 92FS except for around the farm. This would be perfect. I remember these holsters and wondered why I don't see them in gunshops or around as I did in the '80s and '90s. I'm going to look for one.

  • @hickok45 I've been planning on buying a thumb strap for mine as well. Makes it more versitile. BTW I'm a big fan of your channel. Thanks~

  • this holster also works with molle gear

  • will this holster fit on a old alice belt? u no the kind wiht the 3 holes

  • Wow i did good. Picked one up for $2 at a yard sale. My S&W 9mm fits in it perfectly.

  • @MrHubot Most excellent! You gotta love yardsales.

  • @MrHubot Wow, now that is a yardsale deal for sure. congradulations.

  • @Jesses001 I just stumbled into it. I like the fact that you can wear it on your right or left hip. Check them out Jesse if you have the time to go. You can save yourself some cash.

  • @Jesses001 I like the fact that you can wear it on your right or left hip. Check out yard sales Jesse if you have the time. You can save some cash....

  • @MrHubot Lucky!!!

  • I had one but i ditched it because I couldn't get the hang of drawing the gun fast enough. Chris has the best holster I've ever seen. It's a 4 way mossad holster, but there not being made anymore.

  • I like it! Think I'm going to start looking for one. Really good vid on something that hasn't got a lot of (any?) youtube coverage.

  • oooohhhhh I love your big guns!!!

    Wait did that sound gay?

  • I have a question-do you think it would be possible to modify the holster to hold a tomahawk by cutting off the bottom? My main concern would be fitting the shaft in.

  • That would take some trial and error. I really can't answer that without looking at the hatchet and holster together.

  • @evansquiddie I know I'm a little late on commenting on this, but why would you ruin such a good holster just to hold a hatchet? You know, they make holders specifically made for hatchets and tomahawks, don't you?

  • @stuntmanmike37

Yeah, But a lot of them suck. I still don't have a hawk right now anyway, so its kind of a moot point. Right now though, I think I'd shy away from butchering a good um84.

  • Hey Scootch, Bianchi were known for the their leather work many moons ago, were not ??

  • Yes, Bianchi still makes great leather products. I own quite a few of their holsters. Thanks~

  • Would this work with a Glock 21?

  • Yes. I carry a Glock 17 in one and there's room. You can go to the Bianchi website to double check. Thanks~

  • For 21 years in the military, I had no problems with this holster. It became second nature to us, in the proper use of this holster. TSgt, USAF

  • Thank you for the comment but most of all, for your Service, My Friend~

  • My instructor at MP School called these "Suicide Holsters" because you lose time fumbling with the flap if you need to draw your weapon quickly. I guess it's something you just need to practice to get good at. Love your videos, good sir. Keep'em coming. God bless the Army, God bless America. Praise the Lord and pass the ammo

  • Yeah, I've also heard "Widow maker". It's not a quick draw holster, but one to protect your sidearm in the field as a back-up to your rifle.. If I were in a hot zone, I'd get the thumb strap attachment. Thanks for the Kind words my friend~

  • You tape 3 spent casings to the pull ring, MAkes for a handy fob. Looks ugly, but you can have the pistol out about as quick as the thumb break. The trick is to yank down on the fob hard, let the flap snap a bit, and run your thumb up the holster, clearing the flap out of the way as you get your grip.

Not too difficult with a little practice and--like the poster points out--the pistol tends to be there when you need it.

  • Awesome! Love your reviews and will run out to the local surplus store to find one.

  • Sootch I wonder if this holster will hold the Commander size 1911. Kimber CDP AND My Back up Spring field XD w/ the longer trigger gaurd?

  • Thanks for the great reviews. Keep them coming!

  • Nice holsters. Thanks again scootch. Long Live The Republic.

  • nice holster the problem it seems is that all the good holsters are in everyones house and detachment from the army norm is difficult

  • Never seen this Holster. Thanks for the info!

  • awesome video

  • would that work for a knife too?

  • I have one of those and did not even know it had a cleaning rod in it. Very cool.

  • Hey....Just a belated thank you for subscribing. I'm not sure which direction I'm going with this yet.....but I appreciate the encouragement.

  • I'm pretty much sold on anything like the fobus or blackhawk type holsters for pistols. I dislike any with straps and what not over the pistol. If you need it, you need it fast. Different strokes, different folks though.

  • the flap is removable as shown in the video...

  • Yes, but by removing it you lose retention.

  • Sootch,

Do you think this would work with a Commander size 1911?

  • Sure does. I carry ether my 92SB or 1911. The holster holds it nice and snug

  • yea i agree! its a great holster. I love mine

  • I've thought of getting one. This is the holster I used in Desert Storm, but wasn't sure if a Glock 21 would fit. Does anyone know is 21's fit? I love your reviews scootch00. 5 strz.

  • After watching this I got mine out. I have been sick and have not been shooting in well over a yr. My Sig has been in the holster all that time. The holster moulded to the gun to a stunning degree. Gotta love Bianchi products. Mine is in black and my only gripe is it's kinda hard to clean real fune dust off of it. Living in NM tan would have been a better color for me anyways LOL It's not like the holster is the only thing the silt gets into. LOL We won't get into all the things it gets into :)

  • Hey, Shannon~ they are machine washable... the Holster that is :) The one I picked up at the Gun show was loaded with dust from Iraq but after I threw it in the wash, it came out beautifully. Watch out for silt! LOL!

  • Ha, I never thought of that. There is no material in them that would be hurt in the washer. Thanks!! :)

  • Awesome!

    Ballester Mollina, thats argentinian right?

  • Oh Yes, from Argentina. Excellent pistol~

    Thanks~

  • Would these work with my Desert Camo DCU Molle II Main Pack System's

    by Specialty Defense?

  • sweet!

    I clicked both ads

    Thanks for the info bro

  • What branch and what MOS were you? Good vid man.

  • Hey scootch do you know if they make these, or similar holsters for 3" subcompacts? Thanks in advance.

  • I didn't see any smaller versions. They do make a revolver Model for 4" barrels. These were designed for full size guns.

    Thanks~

  • Thanks... Great review BTW

  • Hey man thanks for the review. Cool holster.

  • Awesome!!!!!!

  • wil that fit a revolver

  • There is a Revolver Model. I think it's called UM-84R. It fits a 4" Revolver. This particular holster fits only large frame Semi-Autos. Do a google search and they pop up. Thanks~

  • Not too many people doing holster reviews. People should do more of those since less is known about them. 5s

  • Great review.

For the belt attachment: Do you know the largest width belt that this holster can accommodate?

    Thanks!

  • Thanks my friend~ The holster will take up to a 2-1/4" belt width. I had it written down and forgot to add it.

  • You have a good point about Sixty bucks being what 20bucks use to be.

  • i got my carry licence but after watching your videos..i actually went shooting for the first time in 4 yrs. i took some gals with me too. thanks for reminding us what we should be doing. waves~~~

  • I am honored... that makes it all worth while :) Keep your powder dry~

    Thank you!

  • Thanks you for video!

    +5 S.T.A.R.S.! =)

  • Also fits on molle platforms.

  • great review. we got a gun show here this weekend cant wait.

  • Over priced though but great review

  • looks great

  • scootch -

Another well thought out review. Excellent!

  • Hey sootch, you kind of look like the Daily Show host... John Stewart.

  • Good job scootch ...

I've had one about as long as you have , no problems with it at all ... keep up the good work and may God bless you and your family ...

  • Make some more videos !!!
