ok.. so i'm working on a short film with some friends and i.. we need a camera with good low-light conditions, flash (for pictures), and HD.. is this good for it? I don' t care if it skips a bit while recording..
A Canon 5D Mark II has become the first video-capable DSLR to film a whole episode of a US primetime series. Greg Yaitanes, director of FOX broadcasting company's medical drama series 'House', used the camera, a selection of Canon's prime lenses and, the 24-70mm and 70-200mm lenses to shoot its season finale. Speaking via Twitter, he said that this was to achieve a shallow depth of field and a 'richer look'. He also said he 'feels it’s the future'.
@megalolz88 The 5d is more reliable, and has been around longer. The last season of the tv show, 'HOUSE' was shot on the 5d. I would wait and see what the filmmakers can do with the 7d before you even start comparing to the 5d.
@funkeworks more reliable depending on you find important on a camera. the 7D is faster, but the 5D is a full frame camera. I didn't know that House was recorded with a Eos 5D! Do you know with which lens it was recorded?

What was the shutter speed, and the aperture, and ISO?

I think their are too many variables for these videos to be useful. Shutter speed for instance.

@y0r00t lol dummy. Its a bitch to export to 1080 and the 1080 looks so choppy on youtube.

@y0r00t Because it literally takes 10 times longer. If you've ever rendered video you would understand.

@funkeworks Yeah. I know that show Memphis beat is partially shot on the 7d. A lot of shows use the 5d and 7d now to do some of the shots.
