  • First of all i like to thank Mr. Sorious Samura for risking his life to expose corruption in Sierra Leone. I don't know about you, but I certainly believe that we do not need any more evidence to prove that lawlessness and corruption still reigns in our beloved nation. We cannot dispute the fact that timber logging is going on and deforestation is eminent if this practice is not abated immediately. Wake up people and call for an investigation of those involved. Lunta.

  • The so called Sorious Samura which is not your name but Sorie Samura, i really want to ask a question. Are you a business man or a reporter that is looking for daily bread? Because any good and loving Sierra Leonean will not do what you call an investigation been arranged from London. Do you have any thing to justify your documentary about the so called investigation? Bro go back to your boss an ask him to give you more ideas but this you have failed.

  • WATCH OUT!!! SEE AND DIGEST WHAT THE EDITOR AND PUBLISHER OF THE AWARENESS TIMES SAYS.

Sylvia Blyden Exposes Deception of Sorious Samura & Al Jazeera

  • What a great pity! This naturally edowed country has never had a great political leadership. Politicians in Sierrea Leone carry out their corrupt practices through proxy agents such as Mansaray and Conteh. This is what they call investment. Investment to enrich the politicians and impoverish the rest of us even more. Investment to deplete and degrade our beautiful country at all cost.Investment to line their pockets. Investment, investment, investment!

  • Sierra Leone has become so politically divided that instead of focusing on the appalling nature of the blatant display of corruption exposed in the investigative piece, some people are splitting hairs about the journalistic tactics used. They should have done what Cocorioko or Awareness would have done; take a pen and paper and ask politicians if the stories of rampant corruption were true.

  • Whereas the program raises very serious issues, it would have had more gravitas had the probity of Sorious Samura not now being called into question due to evident misrepresentations in parts.

I am apolotical so have no agenda here. However, as a result of questions being raised since the broadcast, i decided to watch it again given I also had the same knee-jerk reaction as many.

These much needed investigations are just too serious to be journalistically doctored to drive home any point. Sad!

  • was he not ?

    comment!!!

  • Emmerson was right

  • Watch the video again you will realise it was concocted to frame the VP. The transaction was not in VIPs office but a screen was created to look like it. Also why was only 7 seconds of the VPs conversation aired? It's such a vital conversation so why edited? I smell foul play here. We will soon realise that This reporter is the one that is corrupt. He is selling this story for his own good. Mamu Alimamy Conteh

  • @almoud85 "it was concocted to frame the VP. "

    Any explanation from the VP?

I'd like to see the video or article of that.

  • SHAME ON YOU MR VP.. I AM SURE THE PRESIDENT GET HIS OWN SHARE AS WELL...........CORRUPTION AT HIGH LEVEL................I THOUGHT APC WAS DOING A GOOD JOB...............THEY REALLY NEED TO GO....SO SO 2FUT ARATA THEM...........FIRE GO BURN UNA ALL...AGENTS OF HELL.

  • This is Disgusting; I would like to know what will be done to those involved. When I came to the US Momoh Conteh (who used to work at my University's library and thus had access to people's personal details) stole my identity so this is not surprising.

  • The Sierra Leone Governments ACC has a huge backlog of cases in the courts more resouses shold be applied to rid coruption and prosicute properly those already caught as they are buying their way out delaying their time in court example Rev Hassan Mansaray evidence more than a year old stealing NGO Money some being mine

    Papa Russell

  • the APC must go. We need messiah

  • disgraceful.

  • The reporter has the nerve of steel.

He could get killed any moment and nobody would find out.

  • Oh Lord help Africa.Help us!

  • Sierra Leone for sale? Sorious, this is the best report ever... Sierra Leoneans all over the world will this and hopefully put an end to this despicable behaviour and held the ones responsible.... May GOD continue to bless the great nation and purnish those who are keeping us back. thank Aljazeera for the upload

  • woow the vice president, ministers corrupt where is the president doing...something is wrong here..thx for the upload Aljazeera exposing these mean cunts

  • I found this report on this investigation to be shocking. Most Sierra Leoneans were very impressed with the reports we have been getting back home, that Sierra Leone is moving in the right direction. It is troubling to believe that we have engaged in this despicable behavior at a time when we felt that we had turned the corner around. I am a concern Sierra Leonean that have donated money to the current administration to enable them to do great things for all of the people of Sierra Leone

  • @TheWaa12 Better to donate money to watchdog institutions that keep power in check. Donating to investigative journalists like Sorious Samura and his team sounds better :)

  • EcoTech Timber has been pushing for strong conservation initiatives for the past few years without much support. I hope that this investigation will increase the level of support for conservation based organizations in Sierra Leone.

  • Time to edit the propaganda article of Samuel Sam-Sumana on Wikipedia :)
