This week, one of the memes being pushed by the Obama Administration is that unemployment benefits *create* jobs. Talk about a break from reality and causality.
No matter how much as I do tend to diverge from Rand's philosophy, there's one theme that I always agree with her on: the historical 'norm' of the mindless' dominance over the mindful. It seems to be a common theme that many thinkers (even Milton Friedman) have noticed in history. I hope people continue to heed the independent warning against the return to the dominance of the mindless.
Psychopaths aren't mindless, they are actually rationally strong beings who exploit the lesser minds whom they reason are beast of burden by choice and consent. The emphatic strong minds, who do not wish to exploit others though force are combated by pitting the mindless against them. By force or temptation the emphatic mindful are kept in check. The mindless are controlled through highly developed fear and lifelong damage reducing their rational ability and courage.
Question - I thought that Ford didn't take any bailout money, as opposed to GM? If I'm wrong, I'd like to know. Both are shown in the bucket toward the end of the video.
@academiccuriosity hey-- addressed this on the wall of my channel. Didn't notice when I pulled the video. Sometimes I'm subject to mistakes in the source footage. That's why I've stopped pulling vid from christian sites-- too many misspellings. Will fix when I stitch it all into one movie.
@GaltSpeaking They may not have taken any bail out dough, but they sure as hell showed up for the Congressional meeting in Washington as if they would. I say leave Ford in.
Just watching again for the first time since posting. Really proud of the first music transition-- the last note of greenback dollar is the first note (on the harp) of the next piece of music. It's pretty tough to find pieces in the same key and always a thrill when I can make it feel that natural. I pulled the same trick at the end. It's the only way I can use songs within all this orchestral texture
If we deserve to perish in our violation of real laws, so be it, but if we were deceived into this horrible dead end of suffering, then obliterate the deception at it's root and heal all of those that were it's victims. Let justice be done.
@GaltSpeaking I really love how this came just as Zeitgeist:Moving Forward, the most disgusting antithesis to reason, individualism, and capitalism, was released, as if serving as a response. Great work!
@GaltSpeaking: Many thanks for the thoughtfulness and hard work that you've put into these videos. I've been following these since the first version and appreciate the effort. Hopefully part of what you desire get out of producing these videos is that others are introduced to the philosophy and a more rational world emerges as a result. I can tell you that your videos are one of the tools that I use to introduce people to Objectivism.
@jawnybnsc Are you that disconnected from reality? Do you honestly believe that after the architect draws the blueprint the building simply rises from the ground up? Building requires the working class, a fact that never seems to cross the minds of people with your worldview. Indeed if you recall John Galt says he doesn't need workers the first episode of the series. "OUR strike consists not of making demands but granting them...we have chosen not to exploit you any longer...we do not need you."
@GuyMontag92 The architect has the capacity to be a laborer (and is one) almost from the day he is born, the opposite is not true. If you're still recovering from the end of the middle ages and need to imagine a set of classes to determine your lifestyle for you, I'll offer you a "class" division: The productive class and the unproductive class. The are many thinkers as well as laborers in the former, and they all do work. It's you who the "working class" does not need.
@GuyMontag92 The majority of the 'objectivist' characters in Atlas Shrugged have normal blue collar jobs. I don't think you can find a single objectivist character in any of Ayn Rand's works, that hasn't done manual labor, starting from the bottom. In any case, in reality, it's possible to be part of the 'working class' without being a socialist thug.
You took the quote out of context and misinterpreted it.
@jawnybnsc yeah. I got grumpy and deleted them. These episodes take weeks. Last thing I want 5 minutes after uploading is to see idiots dumping on the work. Makes me want to go on strike. They can get their videos from somebody else.
Personally I think such comments should be deleted. I know I would, and I would take pleasure in removing someones pointless insult.
I apply this same principle in dealing with people in real life, by applying my VALUES to relationships and in my dealings with others. I'll add; people don't bother me anymore either, because they know I won't reinforce their bad behavior. BF Skinner (the psychologist) and Ayn Rand's ideas helped me a lot on a personal level.

According to objectivism it does actually make sense to burn a greenback dollar, since it is FIAT money aka just paper. Unlike gold.
