OK here's the thing.

It's a comedy sketch, Cal Wilson (from New Zealand) plays the reporter, it's an Australian Comedy series.

The joke is not on Iraqis or Arabs or those whose first language is not English.

The "critical" part of the sketch is actually directed at those (native English speakers) who choose whom needs to be subtitled.

I note some comments from those who claim to be Iraqi who DO see the humour and are not offended. They are the intelligent ones who see the underlying message.
