This is the first piece of classical music I actually liked... I was about 9 at the time. My mum used to play classical music of all the great composers, especially on a Sunday, and I was never allowed to speak or make any kind of noise. I used to think I hated classical music. Then she bought this album.
Én inkább annak örülök, hogy külföldiek is megpróbálják. Nézd meg itt a You Tube-on Kodály esti dalát hány helyen a világban éneklik külföldi kórusok és 90%-uk magyarul.
you're right there. I never thought of that until you mentioned it. Common in the 1960s I think though I can't think what films in particular. I wonder why they chose cimbaloms to play "spy music".
How I love this marvellous as BecsterABZ says energetic piece of music , I first heard it played by a Russian Orchestra as an encore! I was delighted to discover it as I'd never heard it before until that evening, now it has become a favourite piece!

Probably because a zither was used in the 3rd man theme [its something like a cembalom] and it can sound mysterious.

Que belleza,...... el alma de Hungria se resume en esta suite de Hary Janos. Realmente emocionante.
