A mediocre organ (sounds very harsh, has not been mechanically reliable) in a dreadful acoustic. One thing I've learned is that modern 'acousticians' know bugger all about what makes a good acoustic. Also, that British firms were barred from tendering for the job of the Bridgewater Hall organ is nothing short of a national disgrace. Looking forward to when the hideous hall is pulled down and the Marcussen sent back to Denmark and replaced by a new Willis...

@seaking020492 Ha! A modern organ like this is easy compared to the old ones, where you need an extra pair of hands to pull stops for you. Check out the video of Karl Richter playing Bach's toccata and fugue in d minor for a look at an old classic.

You should hear Scott's own orchestral transcriptions for organ such as 'Night on a Bare Mountain' on his CD 'Virtuoso', brilliant stuff. Ride of the Valkyries is on there too :)

Hmmm - I gotta say 10 star performance - Superb technique and control - Excellent phrasing and meter . . However, that's a 1 star organ . . I would offer the suggestion of 3 words - "Town Hall Organ" or 2 letters and one word "E.M. Skinner"
