Is there any documented proof available concerning Cotton Mather referring to Martha Carrier as "The Queen of Hell?"
I have learned that negative light is very quickly asserted against puritans and that these negative assertions carry quicker than do positive ones. For this reason, I would like to see that he actually did say this.
@MrRedFredSaid I can tell you are not much of an analyst. A person cannot research an assertion. It is the burden of proof on the one making the assertion to prove his posit. Having read much of Cotton Mather and secondary sources on Mather, her assertion seemed to me skeptical. If I for example assert that JFK had a blue car, but you've read stories about his red car and you question him having a blue car, who has the burden to document the proof? Ofcourse the person who made the assertion.
@reformedman - This isn't a legal court. It's you tube, you goofus. You expressed curiousity. If you want the answer, the best way is to do the research yourself. Now, take a deep breath. Then slowly exhale. Really you'll feel lots better.
One of the best books I read last year (2008). I'm looking forward to your next work.

Could you please document that assertion?

I would have to look to see If I can find it, I am sure it is somewhere other than the Internet but that is my source at the moment.

@reformedman - on the other hand, if you're so desperate to know, you could maybe do your own research. Just a thought. Cheers.

@MrRedFredSaid
goofus? what are you 10?
I am not claiming this is a court, I am saying normal intelligent people use this practice.
Whoever makes a claim is the one that should prove it, not the person hearing the claim.
Think about it, oh yeah, also breathe deeply, getting some oxygen into your brain may help.
