  • lol naruto music for kingdom hearts

  • Those woodworking skills are absolutely gorgeous. Makes me seethe with envy.

  • LOVE IT. Just the proportions are way off haha. Its not actually that big. Only about 28, or 29 inches across at the widest point.

  • Goemons Great Adventure? :)

well done.. he should try metal and then you will have a hand crafted martial weapon from your father... priceless.

  • WOW, your father has some killing skills... if ya know what I mean! kakakakak! Nice chakram, man! The music is niiiiiice, what's the name of it?

Congrats for the chakram, post some photos (slideshow) of your cosplay!

  • @MiloAmbrus hey dont know the name but its from the naruto anime hope it helps

  • your dad can make some sick chakrams!

  • Just one question, how much force does it take to break those, as I know that wood sometimes isn't very strong

  • @jangofett287 It's pretty strong but I certainly don't go around banging it into walls and other weapons. It's like any piece of woodworking; just take care of it and use common sense.

  • @Moonlightthehedghog I hope you mean a pair of chakrams! Lol! xD

  • Hi, I'm cosplaying as Axel soon and I have to make the chakrams myself (my mom won't help me) any advice?

  • @ldavidtennantfan They are VERY difficult to make out of wood and require a LOT of skill. If you don't work with wood very much, stick to foam. It's much less expensive and making a mistake won't cost you a hand. (lol! But srsly, we're talking power tools here.) Also, ALWAYS make a pattern first and NEVER just free-hand it. Geometry is your friend.

  • Wow.

Tell your dad that he's an amazing woodcrafter.~

  • That your dad sat there and did that for you is beyond belief. I don't even know you, but I'm telling you, your dad is Nine Times cooler than you deserve.

  • dude your dad's awesome!

  • This is amazing, i wish i had a pair like that! 8D

  • can you lend me this chakram i want to kill all the hater of this world

  • @TheNekochoji Can you start with the 4 people that clicked the thumbs-down button for this vid? lol

  • @Lorditachi yeah, that is true. but i rarely use paper mache. i think last time i did, i ended up gluing the item to the floor of my garage. but i may have to give that a try. hey, do you think it is an ok idea to use hot glue on florist foam? i haven't done it, since i normally use tacky glue, but i ran out. and i have to buy a whole lot of hot glue for my keyblades. which, mind you, i wish i had recorded on video, cause it would have made an easy tutorial.

  • how did you make these? i really want to make a pair of charckrams for my cosplay, or else i have to go as xibar. question, can you use a material other than foam, but not wood? i am not confident with my woodsman ship yet, and foam work always breaks. Well, at least when i am rouger than i should be with it

  • @rainbowsarecoolio You shouldn't be rough with them at all! Lol! Let's see . . . You could make them out of cardboard but they'll still be fragile. You could make them out of fabric and stuff them like a plushie but they won't look realistic (cute as hell tho'). Rubber and latex are expensive (b/c of the long process that requires different materials). And metal chakrams might be illegal to carry around. Really, your best choices are foam or cardboard. You just have to be gentle. :)

  • @LordItachi , i know, i shouldn't be rough with them, but what always ends up happening is my cosplay weapons break when i drop them more than anything! i made a couple of things out of foam, and since i am such a klutz, i end up dropping them at one point and they break. i always carry to much stuff at cons..... i made a wooden sword last year in one of my wood working classes, and it was sturdy, but it didn't look good......

  • @rainbowsarecoolio Oh hey! I think you made this video's 300th comment!

  • @LordItachi , i shall proclaim WOOT on that remark. Oh, by the way, i actually found a way that i can make sturdier charkrams. I just need to fine some sort of plaster coating that won't melt florist foam. Any ideas? I am also getting dowels and embedding them in the charkram for it to be sturdier. Oh, and i also am making a couple of keyblades, so i had to buy way too much stuff. i think i have 100 bucks of foam in my craft room. XD woops. thank you makers of PVC for making it cheap!

  • @rainbowsarecoolio foam board can be made more sturdy by adding careful layers of paper mache :) Depending on what prop you make it can still break with dropping or fighting with it too many times but at least 3 layers of paper mache normally gives it a longer life span.

  • was the intro song Naruto????? :P plz respond! :D

  • @EmmaBrownful Yep.

  • zomg tools?

i need to know how to make that or larxenes kunai for halloween >.>

  • @akatsukifangirl1000 The tool he's using is called a dremel and he used a power saw to cut out the shape. They are VERY difficult to make out of wood and require a LOT of skill. If you don't work with wood very much, stick to foam. It's much less expensive and making a mistake won't cost you a hand. (lol! But srsly, we're talking power tools here.)

  • @LordItachi wait, the whole video is naruto soundtrack!!! :D

  • @EmmaBrownful Wow. You are REALLY hyper! Wish I still had that kind of energy but coffee's the only thing that gets me through college these days. Lol!

  • @LordItachi yup yep yeah yes!! :D LOLZ! :D

  • Those are amazing! Best Chakrams I've ever seen! Just a quick question, how difficult are they to make? And what kind of tool is he using? Does it require a lot of skill and practice?

    Sorry for the bombardment! XD

  • @Hiffvie They are VERY difficult to make out of wood and require a LOT of skill. If you don't work with wood very much, stick to foam. It's much less expensive and making a mistake won't cost you a hand. (lol! But srsly, we're talking power tools here.) Also, the tool he's using is called a dremel.

  • wow, that's pretty amazing.

i'm planning on carving my own pair but so far it's just... meh...

  • nice very nice chakrams how bout u hold em like axel that would be awesome and u throw them i doubt they would return back anyways

  • =O if my dad still had his shop ide have him do this, he probably still could....*calls dad* hey u still have that little electric sander....

  • Your Dad must be an amazing woodworker for the chakrams the actually cut people!

  • How Much Would it cost to have him make me some of my own?

  • @I8apoptart Sorry, we don't sell anything.

  • FREAKING AMAZING!!!!!

How long did it take to make those?!?! :O

  • @MidnightDestiny04 Not long. If we had worked hard, it would've taken only a few days. But that's b/c my dad works from home and I was in high school, so I was still living at home.

  • @LordItachi Ah I see!!

    Well again, they're freaking amazing!!!

    They'll last a lifetime.

  • ok, this is not showing how to make them! i realy need to know how to make these VERY easly, i dont have alot of money, well we are kinda broke cause my parents are devoreced and have NO money, so can you pretty plz help!!??

  • @GummyBearzPro If you don't have money, don't even bother trying to make them out of wood. Even plywood is expensive and then there's the tools. And if you've never worked with wood before, don't attempt it. Go with foam. Visit your local Hobby Lobby or Micheal's Art Store and look for the solid shapes of foam and go at them with scissors to shape them and craft sticks & glue to hold it together. Remember, it's just a costume, it's okay if it doesn't look professional. Be creative. Good luck!

  • CAN YOU HELP ME!? PM ME PLEASE! <3 thanks

  • @DarkKakashisensei What exactly do you need help with?

  • OMG THOSE R REALLY DETAILED!!!

  • Boar is das gechilt XD

  • Huh i mean "too" not "two" omg my english is so bad *lol*

let your daddy, be my daddy xD

how long did it take until they were finished???

  • @ZackFairsAngel May I ask what your first language is?

And we worked at a very slow pace b/c we began these about 9 months before the convention, and lost power for awhile b/c of a tornado, but if we had worked hard it would've taken about a week or so.

  • @LordItachi Wait, these are the chakrams. Lol! I thought I was still on the Xigbar one. Ok, these took only a few days. They're pretty simple, it's just rounding the edges that takes awhile.

  • wow.... hope its hardwood, i would ate for it to break on you from being bumped into.

  • @drybonesfan I certainly wouldn't fight with it or intentionally hit it against something, but it's birch plywood and pretty damn sturdy.

  • @LordItachi good, they look nice, hope you also made a organization 13 coat instead of buying one, Leather looks so bad as a coat in my opinion, i would rathe cotton mix....

  • @drybonesfan Yes, I made the coat. It was made out of . . . . (my god, it's been like 4 or 5 years) I think out of cotton/spandex mix? I had a friend who made her's out of leather and she nearly fainted from the heat. I tried to warn her (and the masses of cosplayers who have asked advice) but everyone makes that mistake.

  • @LordItachi very nice(applause) I usually wear all black and have a scythe at A-Kon which is also black and even with something as breatable as cotton, IT IS HOT, so i try to wear as least amount of leather and acrilic material as possible, its a heat trap.

  • Omg Thats Amazing,

    I want them too ♥.♥

i also need chakrams, but i dont know how to do it.

Pls Daddy come and make chakrams for me two :D

  • @ZackFairsAngel XD You have no idea how happy it just made me to hear you call my Dad "Daddy"!

  • Can I kidnap your dad and make him make Riku's keyblade for me? Kthnx.

    D:

Kickarse, I'm using styrofoam... for a sword...I feel lame xD

  • Lol!

Hey, there's nothing wrong with styrofoam. Everyone has to start somewhere, so you might as well start with cheap materials. It's less dramatic when you screw up with styrofoam than when you screw up with wood. If you screw up with wood, you could lose a hand in the process.

  • yay, gory pep talk!

    xD

  • Nothing gets people more energized than the thought of losing a hand! :D

  • see, now I want to go and play with saws

    funnnnnn

    c:

    omgz wait, do you cosplay???

    ( dumb question xD )

  • I do. (hence the video) I cosplayed a LOT in high school. Most of the stuff I do nowadays is original but I still dip into fandoms for ideas.

  • yeah.. you have no idea how bloody stupid I feel right now for asking that

    xD

Original cosplayers are always the best to me (well, most of the time xD ) because that's just kickarse

    :D

  • Thats AMAZING!

High five your dad for me.

  • omg could i pay you to have him make me some?

  • Sorry, we don't take commissions.

  • haha awsesome, i just wanna know y naruto music was playing in the background hahah

  • Thank you :)

This was made back when I was a teenager and in high school. KH was a new thing and Naruto had yet to be dubbed and was still worth watching. At the time this video was made I was really into KH and Naruto. Thus, the choice in music.

  • wow, that's really good, like someone said before I'd totally commision those! Any tips on making them? Also any tips for oblivion and oathkeeper? (I'm the Roxas in my group and I want those ones ^^.)

  • @roxasxnamine4evr

I have a few tips for the keyblades. Just some good advice to make most of them.

  • The best tips I can give you are: have patience, make a pattern, and keep it proportional. NEVER try to freehand a pattern. Good Luck! :)

  • Another tip: Geometry is your friend.

  • Which size does your chakram have? I dont know this and i want to cosplay axel XD

  • What size does it have? I can't remember what the actual dimensions are (this was a few years ago) but it's the same proportion to my hand as it is to Axel's. Yay geometry!

  • Dude.... i would ttly comission those.

  • did he cut out the circles and all, from one flat piece, and then add the X on the points afterward? like, fitted them on? i'm thinking of making me a set our of foamboard, reinforced somehow of course. ;D also gonna make Demyx's sitar and Zexion's Lexicon. ish gonna be expensive, but worth it

  • Yep. One piece, then he used wood glue to fit the edges onto the points. Then he used the dremel to round the edges and sharpen the points.

  • @JoeltheWitch777

I have an idea. How about cutting a frame out of some wood siding, then filling it out with padding. That way, if they have a foam sword fight at the con. your going to, you can use them instead of a sword!

  • thats a pretty good idea! :D i'll have to draw up some sketches and plans, i wont be able to do it for a LONG time (no money lol) but hopefully within the next couple of years =]

  • Dude, how much does he want me to pay him to make me a set, haha.

  • Sorry, we don't sell anything. Thank you, tho'. :)

  • He is amazing.

    That guy is awesome!

    I mean,look at that thing,it looks great!

  • awesome ... a adult dad that like kingdom hearts ... thats freaking awesome!

  • ROFL My dad doesn't even know what KH is! He just likes the challege of making stuff like this.

  • i would love to be yo brother and im black but who cares ill pay money for 2 of those where u live

  • Um? I'm not entirely sure what you just said, but . . . Thank you! :)

  • Your dad is AMAZING!!!

  • You have a pretty awesome dad. Those things are crazy COOL!

  • Sweet, give my props to your dad.

  • That Axel was super lucky!

  • hy im going to start making mine in a few weeks any tips

  • Tips? Hmm.... Have patience, take your time, and start with a pattern. ^^

  • did he make it out of plywood, or a single piece or what? i am thinking about makin a pair, and am lookin for help.

  • He made it using a single piece of 3/4" birch plywood. I REALLY would suggest not making a chakram if you've never done woodwork before. If you're inexperienced, stick to foam.

  • woooowowowow that is amazing aND FReakIN awesome!

  • tht thing is HUGE

  • "your dads freaking awesome *O*"

    True!!! XD

  • HAH! AWESOME!!! i made something like this in high school for a DT project, but i made the edges too sharp and my teacher nearly cut his finger off while inspecting it ^w^... i still got an A though, so it was all cool... we were asked to make "fake" weapons, but i guess i made mine a little too real. i was praised for having the most unique weapon, too, because everyone else made swords and one guy made a spear... my teacher loves his anime!

  • Awesomeness! ^^

  • your dads freaking awesome *O*

  • Can I commission yur dad? o3o He is awesome

  • Sorry, we don't sell anything. Thank you, tho'!

  • great video terrible music its reminds me of mario

  • I think its from Naruto....

  • I am super jealous

  • would your dad sell things like this on ebay? he'd make a fortune!!

  • Sorry, we don't sell anything.

  • whao how awesome does your dad make em seriously wayyyyyyyyy koolio

  • your dad is really good does he work with wood my friend does and he makes swords and stuff and he might make me those but not as good as your dads

  • Thats amazing!!! I wish I could get one of those!!!

  • the father?

  • XD *hug*

  • what is the tool he is using to cut it called?

  • It's called a dremel.

  • Impressive. I'm doing Oathkeeper and Oblivion atm, and they really are a shit ton of work to detail! And that doesn't even include painting, detailing, and oh so much more!!

May I see the final product for these? They look like they're turning out WONDERFULLY!! I love when people put in the time necessary to do cosplay right!!

  • There's a pic of them in my other vid (Xigbar's Rifles).

  • I love the dedication your father has in his eyes because it's really nice that he took the time to do them for you.

Very thoughtful father you have there.

  • amazing

  • dude! i wish my dad could do that. axel's weapons are my fantasy weapons i cosplay! lawlz! how long did he work on em?

  • My dad works from home, so he had more time than most people would. He says that they would normally take him about a week.

  • well if you won't sell them could you think about making a guide to how to make them like a video so u can teach us i need some charkams for a conventions so i would really love to know how they were made compared to the other videos ive seen, thank you :D

  • Maybe, I'll talk to Mr.Sam about it.

  • jajajaja how many wood you use?

what type and how much time does it takes make them?

sorry if my english is wrong I´m don't talk in english I talk in spanish jeje

    great work!

    gran trabajo! cuidate bye

  • We used 3/4" birch plywood. I'm not sure what the measurements of the sheet of wood we used was, but it was pretty big. (We ended up making 3 chakrams and two Xigbar's rifles out of it.) My dad works from home so we had more time than other people usually do. It only took a week for him.

  • Sell on ebay and ill buy them!

  • Sorry, we don't sell anything.

  • im sorry but i have to take your daddy away fom you :3

    he is mine

  • LOLZ

  • Wow!!! Your dad is uberly talented.I give him kudos!!! <3

  • can u buy these online? like ebay?

  • Not these. We don't sell anything. Other people make ones for sale but a good pair of wooden chakrams usually costs about $500.

  • ver nice :D

  • Thank you for this vid's 200th comment! ^^

  • thats amazing!!!!! at least if one breaks, u can always use that other one. XD

    can i have them? jk

  • Your Dads Awsome! Tell Him I Said That :)

  • Sure thing. But I know what he'll say: "Tell them I said 'I know.'"

  • i made myself some keyblades and they came out really well, and i wanted to try to make some chakrams. i'm pretty skilled with a jigsaw and a dremmel, so that is no problem, i was just wondering, on the spiked parts, how did your dad attach the parts that stick out? because i'm assuming he made it all out of one piece and then added those other bits to make it more 3D, right? thanks for any help you can give.

  • actually, i just saw you that you answered a similar question already, so nevermind. lol.

  • Wow, your dad is awesome :'3

i would really like to see the finished chakrams :s

  • There's a pic of one in my "Xigbar's Rifles" vid.

  • That's one massive Chakram XD

  • Yep! They were made totally to scale! No shortcuts!

  • ur dad's AWESOME!!!!

  • I believe the one I used in this vid is called "Afternoon of Konoha"

  • What kind of wood did you use for this?

  • 3/4 inch birch plywood

  • Thank you so much! xD

  • You, my friend, have one incredibly talented father! You're very lucky that he's willing to make them for you! I hope they were appreciated and admired when your group cosplayed!

  • DUDE!

  • dude they are really kool the ones i make are just crap my uncle in a carpenter he could cut it out of wood for me

  • Wow... That is so amazingly cool there are no real words for it...

  • *jaw Drops tothe Floor* TT-TT OMG!! So Awsome!!

  • u hav a pretty cool dad, i feel kinda ignorant when i try explain modern stuff like video games and this kinda stuf to my parents since im first generation

  • I don't bother trying to explain it. I just hand him a few pictures and say that I need it for a costume. He enjoys making things but he couldn't care less what they are.

  • lol grandparenst are harder XD me nd my grandpa built w/e i need out of wood, we built a few keyblades nd ichigo's sword from bleach, nd our last project we built a subwoofer box. ur cosplay weapons r pretty cool

  • wow O.o amazing

  • Your father is more than cool!!!and u too!!

  • Wow... do you do cosplay commissions? I'm too clumsy to use a dremel that well... I used it for a Sci. Proj. once and I nearly killed myself...

Seriously, think about selling them. You'll make a LOT of money off of chakrams that good!

  • We decided that the work involved in making them isn't worth the money they would sell for.

If we had a woodshop studio in our garage, it wouldn't be any trouble.

  • cool

  • Dude! I wanna make these so badly. Doubt I could go it that good though.

  • Dang. Your dad is like fixated to that Chakram. lol

I can tell he really put a lot of effort into it.

He did a nice job too by the way.

  • wow thats amazing! and ur dad made it O.O

    *high fives ur dad*

  • Man, that's too great!!!

I can almost picture that one spinning around engulfed in flames... xD

Greatly well made, man... your dad is very talented!!! =D

  • you should have really made a video on the whole making of the chakrams thing XD ur dad is awsum at woodwork btw. im sooo jealous of those chakrams (i need'm cause im cosplaying axel next year) wats the tool called that ur dad ws using, i mite see if my dad has one of them XD tell ur dad i said awsum job :D

  • Yes, what was the tool he was using?

    This is also quite awesome.

  • the tool in the vid is called a dremel

  • The tool is called a dremel ^^

  • theres an easier way to do this...styrafoam

  • but styrafoam s soo stupid compared to wood

  • I agree. Wood is much more durable. And it looks better.

  • dude! i wish my dad was that awesome >.> although my mom is making me saix's hammer though ^.^

  • Thanks! ^^

Lol (it's called a claymore, btw) Good luck on that!

  • thanks for the info! lol, oh and one thing, is there a name for larxenes daggers? or are the just daggers?

  • they're called kunaies. ku - nies

  • No, sorry. A kunai is a knife. These are in fact chakrams. You might want to make sure you're correct before you go correcting others.

  • i know. i was responding 2 the girl that didn't know the names of Larxene's knives.

  • Ah. I see. My sincerest apologies. I only saw your comment at the top of the list, with no way of knowing it was a reply.
