Always LOVED this song... Ever since I was 5 in 74. My sister and her 45's and the best rope chewing gum I ever chewed , she kept locked away in a blue tin box. She sang to me and got me to sing along to some of the best songs ever made. And here's one. I love you Sandy!!
What I love about Paul McCartney (and some other bands of this period) is the fact that he uses real orchestral instruments and musicians in his music. I don't think there's a Paul McCartney song (or Beatles song for that matter) I don't like.
I first heard this beautiful song many years ago but wow, when I watched the incredible rendition on Glee, I realised how wonderful this song really is.
That's my uncle Thaddeus in here at .50 (with the cool cal hat on), 1:37, 2:49 & 3:50. I had the pleasure of meeting Sir Paul, his lovely wife Lynda and the rest of the band in 1976 backstage at MSG in N.Y. Milestone event in my life. Great Song Great Memories!
@NatButtaBrotha is that you nat this is cuz nikki. And yes world that's my Dad Thaddeus looking cool as ever. Wow I remember MSG it was cool. Holla at me on facebook cuz look for my real name that starts with a S... HOlla cuz..
@NatButtaBrotha Yes world that is my father Thaddeus in the video how cool is that. Cuz nat is this you HAHAHA this is too funny Hit me facebook okay. LOv Ya...
Gotta love his awesome sense of humour, I mean, lol at that "magic trick" around 2:20 and the stabbing event just after it, and a lot of other moment XD
This song is the superb example of how well McCartney can score and arrange his songs. Remember he can't read music so what he has to do is whistle or hum the parts to each player. This song has three melody lines (How can I tell....) Excellent stuff and takes me back to that hot summer of 76 when evrything was just so bloody great.
The horns are paramount for this song's melody and feel;however, John Lennon didnt use as much horns in his music. Could this be resentment for Spector flooding the "Let It Be" album with a lush orchestra without his consent?
Great Clip! Always makes me happy when I hear it, such amazing harmoney and great bass. This one is sent out to my Robbie, How can I tell you about my loved one? I loooove you, I loooove you. He gave it all, he gave it all to me :-)

born in 1972, i remember this song bein in the back seat of my parents car....Can't believe it's been 32 years........Man has time flown bye..........I'm 36 WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My mother and I first visited Orlando, Florida in August of '76 (for a week-long vacation) and I thought I was in heaven! The day before we had to home (to The Bronx [New York]), I asked her if we could stay she said no because I had to back to school. I told her one day I am coming back to Florida and never go back to N.Y. 28 years later, I moved to South Beach - Miami. I still live there to this day!!!
Nice story, but you should know that, wherever you came from, experience is feeding you since you were born, and im sure that this Bronx NY experience brought you more things that you expected in your education and maybe helped you during your live... but this is just my theory ;-)
What a man,you can love him or hate him,but not ignore him,Paul as that magic touch that can Lighten the road, thrugh these Drab days of Have and have nots.
He and Linda were the perfect pair. It's a shame that his now EX wife (thank God) tried to take advantage of his love for Linda... and fell miserably short.
Well, we can all hope he tours this year and sings this song! he really needs to do some more Wings stuff! I never complain cause he is the best, but more Wings and 80's Paul would be great!
