amstel en brand bier komt allebei van heineken vandaan als je me niet gelooft zoek het maar uit

Klopt (ik werk zelf bij Heineken).

Maar ze mogen dan wel van dezelfde brouwerij afkomen, je kan toch een voorkeur hebben voor bier... ze smaken immers anders. Lingens Blond en Brand zijn ook van Heineken maar zijn echt niet te zuipen (vind ik).

Is Amstel bier the same as Amstel Light? I drank quite a bit of it in Holland but have never seen it sold in the US.

Amstel Light is a low alcohol beer, Amstel Bier, the regular one (5% alcohol).

The US is a real Light market, here in Europe we mostly drink the real stuff ;-)

i'm also in the US at the moment for my student exchange year and it's true: alcohol is a much bigger deal than in germany (an of course also holland). i miss my wonderful krombacher or guinness :( :(
