I'm having a little problem. Input works, I can record (PS3) and I'm using only component cables. But the image doesn't show up on my TV... any possible reasons for that?

I thought the BMIP could record in full 1080p because it was HDMI? are you sure it only goes up to 1080i? and also, you say you record in the compressed format, does that mean there is an option to record uncompressed?

Hauppauge Colossus is even cheaper than this and HD PVR, and in my opinion it's even better than HD PVR because it has HDMI input and the quality is just as good, maybe even better because of the HDMI. It's a PCI-E card like Blackmagic is. The only cons I can think of it is that there's no HDMI output like on Blackmagic so you have to get a HDMI splitter.

You can use 1080p with the Blackmagic's I believe, because you are using an HDMI cable.

Colours and brightness are better IMO on the Black Magic.

I bought the Avermedia capture HD for about half the price of a PVR, and the quality is the same, or could be even better if I put it up to 1080p. :D. That's a PCI-e card as well.

@bawYARR Yeah slightly cheaper, the software and raw clips are easier to use, and you can record via HDMI.

But for some reason a lot of people seem to think this card is hard to use/install because it's PCI-E. It's really not, just plug it in and install (took like 5 mins).

If you cant use PCI-E they now have an external card called the Shuttle that uses USB3.0 to transer data.

I feel like a salesman lol but just wanna show that this card is easy to use and good quality.
