very nice pattern, though it looks like it will only work with thin women or women without large breasts, otherwise at 1:12 you will get an arm full of boob, lol
@TheSalsageek : If he were dancing on 1 you would be right. However, he's dancing on 2, where the man steps forward with his left foot on the 6th beat of the music.
Stop counting by numbers- I prefer dancing on 1 and it's no problem translating, just watch the footwork which is the most important thing- your backrocks will be on 1 instead of 6 if you dance on one, but ALL of the basic patterns- cross body leads, copas, baskets, right side passes, etc, are the SAME. Forget the numbers he's saying and just learn to recognize the patterns.
Definetly one of my youtube favorites! This guy is great because all though he probably knows EVERY move ever created, he is still simple, smooth, not over the top, and creative. And his partner is very good too.
yeah, so as someone who dances on1 it's just a little bit more difficult for me to translate. But not too much... I just turn the sound off and count myself.
All this series of clips are very good, well explained and well danced.... the only negative point to me is the count that's used- two,three,and..... six,seven,and..!!!
Surely this makes for confusion as you are stepping on one, two, three and five, six, seven.
I understand that the 'and' is the first step of the next three- ie. the one and the five but you don't step like that so why count like that!
why the hell do people get so caught up in counting? I dance well on 1 and 2 and have only been at it for a year... learn both and it'll never be a problem

Change 6..7 to 2..3 and vice versa. Plus remember that in his version man starts on 2 to back. Mirror it.

Should not 6..7 be 1..2 ?

it's very common for instructors to count "two, three, and... six, seven, and...". also there is no music, so he is stepping on his own count.
