Sadiamel. this asteroid also looks to be about 500 miles across , the only asteroid in the entire solar system that size is ceres , which is in a stable orbit and has NO CHANCE of ever hitting the earth.

this is simply a "what if?" simulation , and fairly accurate at that , if ceres actually hit the earth , everything down to viruses would be dead, dead ,dead.

For it to hit us it has to pass through a very narrow "window" on it's next pass by the earth(about 2017 i think) , the "window" is about 100 meters across, but the current "margin of error" (several miles) for its orbit still leaves that window within the possible path.

If passes through that window it will hit the earth with an explosion of about 7-800 megatons.

Yes, they are just toys. The point is, we learned how to get the ps-2 cam to do video, use the digital still cam to get images of other images, storyboard, do green screen, chroma-key, edit clips, add sound effects, render to DVD, all on brand new software, in 8 hours. The point is learning how to do all that stuff. Now all those techniques can be used on music videos with real people instead of plastic toys.

Think about how you would achieve all those special effects on your first movie?
