And though I know very little about influence of record labels etc. etc. on artists, I have a very hard time believing that country as a genre has any less corporate meddling than Lady Gaga or Ke$ha.

I dont like country because, most guitar parts and drum parts are really simple... Theres not really much of a solo in most them, the songs are more like a story line, I cant hear the bass, and before anyone says 'Your a douche bag who blasts the bass!' No, I play bass guitar. They are really soft, I dont really like it :/... I acutally live on a farm, 2 sheep, 17 chickens, and a horse. I perfer metal, rock, and LITTLE dubstep. I agree with you on most mainstream music, but I dont like country.
