@Chuukun1 the main reasons i dont like labor: they are wasting ridiculous amounts of money processing illegal immigrants, this was not an issue under the howard government. we are heading for record levels of debt when the howard government left us with a huge surplus, but now that's gone and completely wasted on stimulus projects which are useless. this carbon tax will ruin Australia's ability to compete when selling goods overseas as it's another cost on producers and manufacturers....

@Chuukun1 i dont really care about the mining tax, i think extra tax could be charged to the miners, but not the level which the labor government wanted to, because many jobs would be lost. Australia is not a charity, labor is sending ridiculous amounts of money to other countries when we need it to fix our own. Gillard is a communist and acts like a dictator, she will not listen to the people, she's calling all the shots. that's exactly how it is, no democracy with labor at all.

@Soundgarden8497 oh, as far as the stimulus are concerned it did work, not well admittedly but better then the trickle down system Howard would have implemented (e.g give the money Rudd gave to the people and give it to the big companies.) the big company CEOs would of just pocketed most of it prop up there company with the rest and let the little companies go bust. so we would still be in this debt but worse because there would of been more job losses. no mater what the GFC was coming GFC=debt

@Chuukun1 the stimulus didnt fucking work at all, it was money wasted on trivial shit, most of which were products made in china so essentially the australian government just gave a shitload of money to china and then borrowed more off china to pay for the debt. if the howard government were still in power we wouldnt have even seen any effect of the GFC because our economy was bulletproof until labor came and fucked it up wasting money. the stimulus should have produced worthwhile projects.

@Chuukun1 as far as mining is concerned, i'm completely against coal mining, it ruins the land not just aesthetically, but pollutes the water table and makes farmland unfarmable. Australia has vast supplies of uranium, i know nuclear isn't popular especially since the japan incident, but if the right safety precautions are taken, and the correct safe location, we should be using nuclear power because it's the most efficient power technology, period. also, more hydro and then solar. not wind
