  • i love black and white photos, they looks so much cooler than color but life is pretty good in color

  • The Wilderness Downtown...

  • I used to wait, then I took an arrow in the knee.

  • @Marcury84 LOL

  • this song makes me wanna groove

  • i cant comprehend how anyone could even consider the dislike button.

maybe they slipped? .... just a theory

  • @DJmasonmusic lol

  • 3:37

  • THE WILDERNESS DOWNTOWN !

  • I used to wait to the end and play song again.

  • @sstrycek1 Used to? I still do :)

  • Saw them yesterday at the Bridge School and they were awesome!

  • @SFO14 @Althalus1990 Enjoy the music you lame asses

  • Isn't this just the most epic song Eva?????

  • @HSAdestroy actually most of arcade fires songs are good, go to itunes and sample all their the shiznaples

  • @abc1235222 I have haha all three albums :D

  • I feel like such a hipster for listening to this song. Most of the people commenting on the official music video for "Rebellion (Lies" are hipsters/music elitists/douchebags/snobs in general/obsessed with skinny jeans, bad fashion, their distorted excuse for "irony," contrariness, Chuck Berry glasses, and liking music and/or movies not because they consider them good but just because no has one heard of them. :P At least, that's my initial impression.

  • I wait for my lost love lucinda.

  • go dogs go

  • @Althalus1990

Your crap forced me to make an account just so i could say:

1)Searching songs on youtube at home alone in your tightie whities is not a 'quest'

2)I'm sorry to say that despite your efforts, you not only sound like an ignorant tool but also a list of many other adjectives that i do not have enough characters to type.

3)Get your facts right about this album

4)Would you like a napkin, or maybe a wet wipe? I do believe you just got served, bitch.

  • omg this song was uploaded on my birthday <3

  • Uno dei più grandi gruppi di tutti i tempi senza ombra di dubbio, bugiardo chi dice il contrario.

  • Great song and I am 26. Whoop.

  • thumbs up if the wilderness downtown brought you here!!! =]

  • I"m currently on a quest to listen to the so called Grammy Award for Album of the Year. I'm doing this because I don't want to be an ignorant tool who rejects a band because he's never heard of them. I'm Canadian and I've never even heard of them until the Grammy's. I hope the next songs are better because I am not convinced. This album has only made it as high as #12. It is a joke. The singer sucks and all the instrumentation is plain as prison walls. The lyrics do not say anything,,,

  • @Althalus1990 Your taking one song out of context of an entire album that functions as an entire body of work. And you never heard of them until the grammy's??? I wouldn't go bragging around town about that kiddo...

  • @Althalus1990 dude, you ruined these guys for me

  • @Althalus1990 wow dude..

  • @Althalus1990 Can't tell if musically oblivious 8th grader or troll

  • @Althalus1990 brother oh brother. Your quest need not be listening to Grammy award winning albums, respects to arcade. Your quest should be learning respect for that of which you do not understand...Music. Im 19 and i respect all music, i also play guitar, piano, drums, trumpet, and bass granting me an abstract view on music. This music is plain as prison walls to you because your view is plain as prison walls. Get it?

  • @Althalus1990 Wow, you have to listen to this album as a whole, not the individual songs. Much like Radiohead constructs their albums, this album was constructed to stand alone as a work of art. The songs themselves won't stand out as singles, or anthems. The fact that they reached #12 means nothing, Soulja Boy was #1, are you telling me that music is not as plain as prison walls? Have you listened to this band's other albums? They all easily could've won grammys, but were overlooked.

  • @SFO14 Did I not just say that I am listening to the whole album SFO14? and I don't know how many times I've said this to fans of album of the year winners in the past. but its called the ALBUM OF THE YEAR. Not the Album-that-judges-find-need-more-promotion-because-the-band-in-question-has-only-just-recently-achieved-a-little-fame. ALBUM OF THE YEAR SFO14, meaning the BEST album since the last awards show. meaning, the album that has been listened to by the most people.

  • @Althalus1990 Actually you never mentioned that you were listening to the whole album, but somewhere in your non-verbal communication you might have led people to the assumption that you were doing so. I am not one of those people because I try never to assume anything. And AC didn't only just recently receive a little fame. They were #1 for a while on itunes most downloaded singles list, and their album "Neon Bible" was @ the top of downloaded albums after appearing on SNL promoting said album

  • @SFO14 Actually, I did mention it, "I"m currently on a quest to listen to the so called Grammy Award for Album of the Year." #2 who cares about the singles list, I'm talking about Album sales, not singles, don't bring up statistics that don't relate to the conversation. #3 As well, saying that an album was at #1 for a bit was good, but the fact that they needed SNL to help them out kind of makes the point irrelevant.

  • @Althalus1990 That's like saying "they need the radio to help them out" or "they needed a music video to help them out." A band must market its music to an audience otherwise how else is it supposed to get out there? And how many acts have been on SNL but haven't gone to #1? The fact that they were unknown, appeared on SNL and went to #1 speaks volumes. The fact that I brought up singles sales might be irrelevant, but then to dismiss statistics based on album sales on ur part is contradictory.

  • @SFO14 I realize now that my chart comment was irrelevent, you are right, but a statistic like album sales would directly correlate to how many people listened to something. It would be impossible to go out there and survey every single person that bought every single album sold to find out if they actually LIKED the music. Chances are that they probably heard most of the songs on the album before even buying it and liked already if they bought it.

  • @Althalus1990 no one cares what you think, please go away

  • fantastic song and im still in my moms uterus

  • Brilliant!

  • amazing song.Heard it on Absolute Radio this morning.

  • Fantastic song and I am old.

  • Fantastic song and I am 234567876543 years old.

  • 12 people apparently don't like our Postal Service XD Fools ARCADE FIRE FTW!!!

  • Does anyone know what that instrument is that comes in at 4:21? I love that part but can't figure out what instrument makes that sound.

  • I will confess - when I saw these guys were announced to headline Reading and Leeds last year, I went 'Who?'. But I wish I'd looked into them then instead of waiting for The Wilderness Downtown, because this song is genius.

  • my favorite song past present and future ^.^

  • Why do I always like the less popular songs you only hear a few times on the radio?

  • @DirtyFreaks Hipster! This song is good because of the quality of music, not because of its obscurity. Music elitist/douchebag/snob.

  • @superclaydude I just googled hipster, and I have normal clothes, don't drink wine. cheap beer, coffee, tea and I am not an emo.

  • @DirtyFreaks Your comment sounded like something a hipster would say. Just pointing that out.

  • @superclaydude well how many hipsters does it take to screw in a light bulb?

  • @dylanbryson A pretty obscure number, I'm pretty sure you wouldn't understand though.

  • used to wait for it....NOW SCREAMING SING THE CHORUS AGAIN!!. to every young musician out there. practivce makes perfect. this is perfect.

  • That is a powerful song.

  • WOOHOO! LOVE THIS SONG!

  • "Hope that something pure can last" - well said Arcade Fire

  • I love this song, but its a scientific fact that Intervention by Arcade Fire is the best song this world has ever known.

  • @Nonnel420 .. lol scientific fact ,,,,what nonsense

  • I just want to get this out first, I am a musician and I do deeply like this song. However, I can't get over that this song is overly simplified, its beauty lies in how little it is actually creatively complex, most of the song relies on repeating keyboard and drawn out bass notes.

  • best song on the album imo. it just has that sound to it. add that to the great lyrics that justify it.

  • FANTASTIC !

  • y is that whenever i listen 2 this song i always fell like im listening 2 this song when im driving up somewhere up north in ontario and its winter O.o
