This part almost made me give up on the entire game. the best part about the entire game for me though was that I got it brand new for $10 bucks. Why is this guy constantly fiddling with the joysticks and moving them in the wrong direction?!?! I just played the xbox version for the first time a couple weeks ago (i own the ps2 shit version) and i beat this part in like 4-5 minutes!!!
I can't grab the tie fighters, all I can grab are those electrical canisters, which you can never throw into the tie fighters, they just hit those towers HELP!!!

Second, about pulling with a mouse, you need to realize how it works. When u are pulling up with your mouse, there is a switch that turns as "true" and the destroyer goes up a certain segment. The main point is that, moving your mouse quicker does not work well since how fast or how far your mouse moves is insignificant, the trick is to move ur mouse in a slow but continuous motion which will allow the computer to send the "UP" command continuously.
Actually it is not as hard as it seems, u just need to understand the mechanism of this input.
First, the issue about people not being able to get the green light is because it is giving the wrong instructions. So just ignore them and pull the destroyer to point directly at the center.
Man, this shit was so lame. I've never hated anything so hard. Why can't I fucking rip it down at any time? I have to get it facing exactly toward me? What the fuck?
Easiest way to do it is when tie fighters attack, go to pillar things, double jump and lightning them, repeat til destroyed, then mimic the icons exactly, eventualy the destroyer won't move much after doing it, (when tie fighters come let go an destroy them) then go back to the destroyer. U got the destroyer on the third time of pulling.
When I let go of the ship for the second round of tie fighters it floats back like instantly and I cant just grab tie fighters! i have to try a million times with force lightning

For PC you should align yourself on the outside of either the left or the right pylon where all of the tie fighters come through. Jump and hit them with lightning for the easy kill. When you're pulling the SD down you need to pull the mouse fairly slowly. You'll know when you're getting it right. After I figured this out I don't mind this part at all. It only takes 3-5 waves and each wave die really quickly.
I quit at this point. I think the Imperials are smart enough not to send anymore TIE fighters at me after 35 waves. I got stuck. They should have at least made it where you could pick up where you left off. It's total bs.
I remember when I was playing the game for the second time, "You're a jedi boy!! size means nothing to you!! reach out with the force and grab that ship!!!" If I'm Galen, I will definitely scream this through the communicator "NOTHING!!??!! WHY DON'T YOU DO IT YOURSELVES OLD MAN!!!???".
It took me a day to realize that you have to stay behind the pillars, jump up use force lightning to destroy every tie fighter quickly, and then pull the giant thing the TIE fighters were very annoying, there are 72 in every imperial star destroyer about 6 come in one wave, so either 12 waves or 432 waves, i didn't know witch way to use, divided is 12, and multiplying is 432, I don't know what to do after that. D:

the best part about the PS2 version is in this level you just watch starkiller pull it down, I have this game on 360 and PS2, and I enjoy the PS2 version more cause its actually bout the fighting and gameplay rather than 360, its more about doin a crapload of combos, which dont get me wrong, they are all awesome but the levels just take too long with all the obstacles and puzzles you have to do, that really have no point to the level other than to waste time

i ended up beating the destroyer on the mac version.
if you positioned the destroyer in the middle and the red light is still on, move the destroyer up even if the game does not tell u to. after a while the light will switch to green. the problem is that the game does not tell u to move the destroyer up a again. i ended uo beating the destroyer in four turn. it is really not that hard.
shoot the tie fighter with the lighting when they are going out the screen on the left. it should take 2 shots cos the first just goes randomly missing. u can also block them with the "hold" power or throw the flying barrells to them: these ways u can even kill 3 of them at once.
protip for tie fighters: shoot them when they go out the screen on the left. it usually takes 2 shots because the first hits something else. u can also shoot those going to the right, but u need to be in the center of the screen without protection.
if you are good enough u can throw the flying barrells to them, or block them with the "hold" power of the force. this way u can take up to 3 of them at once. it's more time consuming tho.

The thing here is don't try at all. Pretend your just trying to throw a stromtrooper on the floor. I tried like 20 times while screeching on the controller, but when I got ticked off and let it loose, the thing finally came down.
The only boss I hated fighting was the Junkyard Jedi, but after getting a hang of it he wasn't so bad. I find that what the game wants with the Star Destroyer is to be facing you, but have it's underbelly slightly showing or something. I dunno. I guess the only real advice I can give you is USE THE FORCE!!
I play the pc version, this part is so annoying, the game always too easy, but the boss fights are impossibles... but that fukin part ruined all the game, i thinking about to skip it with a cheat but i am afraid that i won1t turn off the cheat or turn it on at an other part after i have it
i hated pulling it down, i thought it was just holding the force button and pulling the analog stick down, uleashing the force, and slamming it down, but the controls on this were terrible, and also im glad i bought the wii version because i can do the cutscene now! :D
i got the xbox 360 emulator for my gamepad, because I couldnt complete this. As Oramain said at the last grab it won't turn green. It also won't go green with the controller, so i'll say it must be a bug.

I have been trying this part for about 3-5 days now,and I have broken both my arms and my mouse whilst trying to bring this ****er down,when I get close to the end,the ship ALWAYS points down,and it takes an eternity,and 5 broken mouses to bring him back to the real position!!!!!!!
And just when I get him to the right position,the damn TIEs come back,and the destroyer points himself down again.
controls are SO FREAKING DUMB when played with the mouse... i end up picking up the mouse about 20 - 30 times per pull.. which means like more than 100 times in total... and when you get close to the end... i don't even get time to bring it down because i have to lift the idiotic thing.... whis part of the game is REALLT ANOYING

It is actually really easy if you know what to do. Basically as sypros said, make it so the point of the ship is pointing at you. The left stick controls side to side and the right one controls up and down (like usual). Once you have it in the right postion (you will know) push down on both sticks and hold down until more tie fighters come. Then, let go as they arrive. Quickly destroy them, then you can grab it again...repeat until you bring it down. Should only take 3-4 waves.
Do not follow the onscreen commands they make you fail. Make it so that the point of the ship is aiming and you and slightly upwards and then you'll get the green command. Sustain it and you will be able to pull it down.

hes doing it all wrong! he not even following the instructions giving on screen i followed and finished it within 5 mins!. You have to fight the flying ones 4 times before you get the ship to come down. Just follow what is sed on screen.

seriously this boss drives me insane. i play the game on mac and have been fighting the destroyer for at least 3 hours. i almost got it down yet at some point the light does not turn to green anymore so i cannot take it down. beating the ti-fighters is freaking easy only takes me about 6-7 seconds yet i cannot take the damn destroyer down. is that a bug? u guys have any solution?

it fuckin happens to me to.i had almost got it down and then the S and down mouse thingy doesnt appear anymore its driving me nuts.i mean i have almost ripped it apart its not really far from me.iam gonna download the patch and see if it was a bug prob or whatever

hey man,
i ended up beating the destroyer on the mac version.
if you positioned the destroyer in the middle and the red light is still on, move the destroyer up even if the game does not tell u to. after a while the light will switch to green. the problem is that the game does not tell u to move the destroyer up a again. i ended uo beating the destroyer in four turn. it is really not that hard.

some of the boss stages of this game are fucking hard and unfair... but the good thing is that once u get how to kick their asses it'll be worth it.

shoot the tie fighter with the lighting when they are going out the screen on the left. it should take 2 shots cos the first just goes randomly missing. u can also block them with the "hold" power or throw the flying barrells to them: these ways u can even kill 3 of them at once.

protip for the star destroyer: dont follow the suggestions on the screen!!!
just make the ship get its front to the center of the screen and then push the controls down when u are told to. it'll take way less time

protip for tie fighters: shoot them when they go out the screen on the left. it usually takes 2 shots because the first hits something else. u can also shoot those going to the right, but u need to be in the center of the screen without protection.
if you are good enough u can throw the flying barrells to them, or block them with the "hold" power of the force. this way u can take up to 3 of them at once. it's more time consuming tho.

Oh and if you want to do it the easy way, type in CORTOSIS as a cheat to make you invinsible, then pull it down. You won't have to worry about TIEs.

The thing here is don't try at all. Pretend your just trying to throw a stromtrooper on the floor. I tried like 20 times while screeching on the controller, but when I got ticked off and let it loose, the thing finally came down.

The only boss I hated fighting was the Junkyard Jedi, but after getting a hang of it he wasn't so bad. I find that what the game wants with the Star Destroyer is to be facing you, but have it's underbelly slightly showing or something. I dunno. I guess the only real advice I can give you is USE THE FORCE!!

I play the pc version, this part is so annoying, the game always too easy, but the boss fights are impossibles... but that fukin part ruined all the game, i thinking about to skip it with a cheat but i am afraid that i won1t turn off the cheat or turn it on at an other part after i have it

i hated pulling it down, i thought it was just holding the force button and pulling the analog stick down, uleashing the force, and slamming it down, but the controls on this were terrible, and also im glad i bought the wii version because i can do the cutscene now! :D

i got the xbox 360 emulator for my gamepad, because I couldnt complete this. As Oramain said at the last grab it won't turn green. It also won't go green with the controller, so i'll say it must be a bug.
I'm so sick of this game after this dumb battle, tailored for the cut-scene i'm sure, but I can't get there.

Yeah I'm having a really hard time with this one too. I get it straightened out and it does not come up with the s anymore, just sticks with a and d. I can kill these tie fighters all day now easy. Way too much practice. Maybe it's a bug in the PC version?

I have been trying this part for about 3-5 days now,and I have broken both my arms and my mouse whilst trying to bring this ****er down,when I get close to the end,the ship ALWAYS points down,and it takes an eternity,and 5 broken mouses to bring him back to the real position!!!!!!!
And just when I get him to the right position,the damn TIEs come back,and the destroyer points himself down again.
i will go insane with this ****!!!!!!!!!!!!

controls are SO FREAKING DUMB when played with the mouse... i end up picking up the mouse about 20 - 30 times per pull.. which means like more than 100 times in total... and when you get close to the end... i don't even get time to bring it down because i have to lift the idiotic thing.... whis part of the game is REALLT ANOYING

It is actually really easy if you know what to do. Basically as sypros said, make it so the point of the ship is pointing at you. The left stick controls side to side and the right one controls up and down (like usual). Once you have it in the right postion (you will know) push down on both sticks and hold down until more tie fighters come. Then, let go as they arrive. Quickly destroy them, then you can grab it again...repeat until you bring it down. Should only take 3-4 waves.

Do not follow the onscreen commands they make you fail. Make it so that the point of the ship is aiming and you and slightly upwards and then you'll get the green command. Sustain it and you will be able to pull it down.

FORCE LIGHTING IS THE WAY TO GO. AND IGNORE THE EFFING THUMB STICKS ON THE SCREEN JUST GET IT TO FACE YOU, and POINT IT UP JUST A BIT, you should be able to get it after that.

hes doing it all wrong! he not even following the instructions giving on screen i followed and finished it within 5 mins!. You have to fight the flying ones 4 times before you get the ship to come down. Just follow what is sed on screen.
