I've been listening to Iron Maiden since about '82 (have an awesome father, with a wicked taste in music), and I was worried that they may start losing their touch or would just start slumping into a decline. I totally agree. While I will be the first to admit that I like older materials more, their newer materials have qualities that it takes time to get into but once you get into it, you will understand the its own depth and greatness in its own way. I think that's different type of depth that their older materials didn't had.  I think it's very unfair that many of these "fans" aren't giving newer materials enough time and just stick to the older materials for their own nostalgia.

Benjamin Breeg was man who gave idea for creating Iron Maiden, and he was secret leader, but he never knew how to play any instrument so he didn't gave any contributions and they wanted to kick him out of band. So they decided but when they told him that he went wild and tryed to kill 'em all, he is now 6 feet under apple tree where they met first time, and this song is dedicated to him because Steve couldn't sleep knowing that he killed man with drumstick so he wrote and published song.

Ok, also to weigh in on this Metallica debate. I lost my trust in them after their all black album. They became corrupted in their ivory tower when turning against fans with napster (public relations disaster). Plus James Hetfield, when he stuck to his powerful shouting style could lead Metallica to rule the planet. But recently his voice sounds like he has a painful hernia. They know their stock is falling. That's why their music sounds so contrived.

Just an fyi, I do vocals and guitars in a metal band and usually solo's get sped up or changed in ANY band due to the guitarist's or crowds mood. Plus there is nothing like the adrenaline of being on stage!!! So things can get sped up or changed. A usual thing. I think they play amazingly well live especially Smith and going into the studio they (To quote Steve) try to capture there live sound The only thing I have said badly about Maiden live has been the last few versions of Run To The Hills which in my opinion has to guitars sounding to electronic like in Death On The Road on the intro but hey, thats just my opinion

Well, you know it's just an opinion. The reason I say this is because they generally play faster and have less rhythm live whereas in the studio they really seem to work hard to get great sounding solos.
