The reason why you need to show your ic is to prove that you are a Singaporean, the reason why the voting slips are numbered is to ensure that no one could fake the voting slips.

Ask yourself this, has anyone in Singapore been penalised because he/she votes for an opposition? The answer is no.

Has the residents of Potong Pasir been penalised because they vote for Chiam See Tong? The answer is no.

voting for an opposition is to voice an opinion towards a change in the government system/policy. the coming GE will prove a strong coming for the opposition party. BUT having said that, looking at the long run, when the oppositions becomes strong in parliament, the question lies to which exact opposition party we should vote for. thus having a Multi Opposition Parties in Singapore will not solve the issues and trust from Singaporeans.

I feel deeply convinced by what Ken has said, and I wanna vote for his party. But I'm worried that THEY will know, who i voted for, and that they'll take it against me when it comes to HDB related matters.

@tomlensher , there is no need to worry because they know. every vote is numbered and co-related to each ID NO. The only way for them not to know, is when they decided to not checked every vote against them.
