Police officers are almost never prosecuted in the manner which many people feel should be done. I have a bad feeling that the most these officers will be charged with is official oppression. Many states have laws to protect officers from criminal prosecution in cases such as this one. One case involving a beating of a suspect in my city, these officers only were charged with a non felony official oppression because the state has laws to protect police.

He's the one who made the fake call about the "car burglaries."

People were taken from their homes and beaten, sometimes for weeks. Sometimes they never returned. When the people had enough they grabbed one of these cops, hung him from a tree, took the money from his wallet stuffed it in his mouth and set it on fire. The message sent was clear. @IDoNotBlameYou Actually, that isn't true. The witnesses did try to do something. Look up a YouTube video called "Big Fullerton Cop Hits Cameraman" and you'll see what happened before everyone was made to move. Also, a few hundred people showed up for a protest about a week later.

Was he the person in the background being "apprehended" as they cop hit the camera guy? And I definitely know there's a protest over Thomas. My point was, Tottenham REALLY reacted in rage to the shooting of a man firing at the police, as Fullterton is still waiting out an unjust, brutal murder. Seems the places would be reversed.

One officer beat Kelly Thomas with the butt of his Taser until blood starts coming up all over the officers arms and hands. Another officer drop knees Kelly Thomas' nose and throat with the full force multiple times, crushing the victim's throat. This happened while Kelly Thomas was in handcuffs and not moving or resisting.
The Chief of Police has been covering this up since July 5th and continues to destroy evidence and mislead the media.
Sad! Same thing is gonna happen to these cops as that accidental shooting. They are gonna get a slap on their hand and maybe serve 6 months and get off early for good behavior.

Police officers are almost never prosecuted in the manner which many people feel should be done. I have a bad feeling that the most these officers will be charged with is official oppression. Many states have laws to protect officers from criminal prosecution in cases such as this one. One case involving a beating of a suspect in my city, these officers only were charged with a non felony official oppression because the state has laws to protect police.

It was Jeremy Popoff, co-owner of the Slide Bar. Someone had overheard him talking about it. He called the non-emergency dispatch number from the back office, and so there isn't any 911 recording. He's the one who made the fake call about the "car burglaries."

One officer has to have a conscience. Plus you have eyewitness statements, right after it happened. The bus passengers, they witnessed it. It's on tape, and that is pretty damning evidence. Plus I am sure someone has a video, the police cannot destroy them all

It is very likely that his hesitation to respond to orders will be considered "resisting arrest" Shawn, is Schizophrenic and was arrested by Long Beach CA Police June 26th for no apparent reason. Meanwhile, last night, there's the Tottenham Riots in London. Over Mark Duggan, who shot at the police, killing one. They shoot back, killing him. Rallies & protests over Mark's death, a girl gets hit, a riot breaks out, fire, looting. Now the whole place looks like its been bombed. A guy exchanging gunfire with the cops in the UK sparks a public outrage and burns the city to the ground.
But over here, a defenseless guy gets beaten to death in Fullerton for no reason and a lot of talk happens.

@koolbossjock Damn right. In the 1950's there was a corrupt police force in my parents country. They made false arrests to further their status with the communist government. People were taken from their homes and beaten, sometimes for weeks. Sometimes they never returned. When the people had enough they grabbed one of these cops, hung him from a tree, took the money from his wallet stuffed it in his mouth and set it on fire. The message sent was clear. We have the right to protect our lives.

@IDoNotBlameYou Actually, that isn't true. The witnesses did try to do something. Look up a YouTube video called "Big Fullerton Cop Hits Cameraman" and you'll see what happened before everyone was made to move. Also, a few hundred people showed up for a protest about a week later.

@eightyfeettall Such a disparity between Tottenham's and Fullterton's reactions. I saw the video you mentioned but didn't link it to the Kelly Thomas incident. Was he the person in the background being "apprehended" as they cop hit the camera guy? And I definitely know there's a protest over Thomas. My point was, Tottenham REALLY reacted in rage to the shooting of a man firing at the police, as Fullterton is still waiting out an unjust, brutal murder. Seems the places would be reversed.

@IDoNotBlameYou You're right; there was a huge disparity in events after the cop shootings; I think people in wealthier places haven't reached the "push-to-shove" point as in Tottenham, but -- if they don't succumb to the old "frog being slowly boiled alive" syndrome -- I think it most definitely can reach those proportions when people feel desperate enough. In W. Oakland, where I used to live, a man, Oscar Grant, was murdered by BART (train) cops, & it was violently protested.

I don't think they got it. I think once the witnesses give their statements, that will be enough to convict them. Eyewitness statements can be very compelling. Now they have another video of some witnesses that boarded a bus. i think four or five of them, and the bus has cameras,. Right after this

And I think one officer will make a deal, and testify against the others, I am guessing there is at least one that has a conscience. And there are probably multiple videos, and they may be able to destroy one, but they cannot get them all.

Not only the six officers, but every fucking officer there watching should be sent to prison. This is a disgrace, and it needs to stop. Police officers take an oath to protect the public. The officers standing there watching should have "man up'd" and stopped this killing. They could have saved this man's life. Every person in Fullerton should demand all officers be charged. The police must love to watch UFC fights. After hearing this i would not be surprised if a lot of the people in the police dept were Masons at least where im from a lot of the cops, lawyers, and judges are Masons. When your all in the same Club its very easy to cater to each other even if things like this happen. At least we know what kind of people are being paid to protect us and our children. One officer beat Kelly Thomas with the butt of his Taser until blood starts coming up all over the officers arms and hands. Another officer drop knees Kelly Thomas' nose and throat with the full force multiple times, crushing the victim's throat. This happened while Kelly Thomas was in handcuffs and not moving or resisting.
The Chief of Police has been covering this up since July 5th and continues to destroy evidence and mislead the media.
