Even though the Grandé started up the engine charts with the 120-bhp, 200-cid inline-6 engine, its standard engine offering was the Cleveland 351-cid V8 with 250-bhp and a T-bar-style-shifted Select-Shift Ford automatic transmission. It offered solid straightline performance: with the 351-cid engine as described, 0-60 came in 8 seconds flat. The Grandé could be equipped to perform like the Mach 1 fastback with the 428-cid Cobra Jet V8 as a top option.
The first LHD I ever drove was a '69 Grande.

I wish they would bring back the Mach 1 and Grande, They're doing it with the boss 302, So why not its mustang bretheren?

I want to say the Cleveland was available late '69, but I cant quit remember. I miss the car comercials from the late 60's and early 70's.

I don't think you could get a Cleveland in 1969.?. 1970 I believe was the first year.
