Were you aware it was the 40th anniversary of the JFK assassination when you were in Winchester? I was in Winchester before you were born, on Thursday, May 19, 1966 to see Stonewall Jackson's HQ before going down 522 to Front Royal and Skyline Caverns, then returning for a second night in Martinsburg.
I started taking Levodyn because i was keen to bring my blood pressure down without resorting to prescription medicine. i have been taking it for less than 4 weeks but have already noticed a change. Before taking Levodyn my blood pressure was 152/86, it is now 128/76. i am really impressed.
Thank you, John. I'm a supporter of congenital diaphragmatic hernia awareness, being the mother of a survivor, and a huge Frida Lyngstad fan (thus, ABBA). So I've got other things going on besides Keith. Michaela needs a huge chunk of me, and everyone else gets what's left.
Thank you on her behalf, Virginia. We had 4 5th graders at our house for a little get-together, 2 girls & 2 boys, and it got a little wild, as you can imagine. She's more of a social butterfly than I was at that age. Heck, I wasn't that socially accepted even at 16!
MaMsMom, Your daughter is absolutely beautiful. Thank you for sharing the tribute video. Your daughter is still with you, right? I searched on CDH because my niece had an 8lb baby boy with same born today. Surgery complete and I am looking for success stories. God Bless you and your family.
That's so sweet, thank you. Yes, she's getting ready to finish the 4th grade. She's very physical, she gets high marks in Wellness class. I think she underestimates just what she's capable of b/c she's skittish about taking part in extracurricular sports like youth soccer. All her friends play, but she's afraid to b/c of her asthma. I am praying for your niece and her son, that they grow strong together, if it be the Lord's will. Thanks again!
OMG, Andy! Hey there, bud! Hope you're having a great summer so far! If you wanna see a funny video, go check out my video "Our Trip to the Abandoned Turnpike." Dorothy is in it. You'll love it! See ya!
Thank you for the kind comments. But I'll respond this way: if it had to happen to someone, I'm glad it happened to a couple like us who shared a common faith and whose marriage was strong enough to withstand the trial of having a child sick unto death. It doesn't always end in a happy ending for everyone, but thank the Lord it did for us.
I started crying in this. To see her so big and healthy. My daughter had CDH and is now seven and doing great. Kudos to all these miracles and their moms!
Bless her little heart. What a helpless feeling it is to know your baby has something potentially fatal that you never heard of before. You're really at the mercy of the medical professionals. I was so mixed up when she was born. She was being taken 3 hours away, and I hadn't even gotten to bond with her. All I knew was that this was a child I had just given birth to, and that was it. I know that's cold to say, and no one else could possibly relate unless they've been through it. Thank you!
I agree. I did the same thing in the hospital. You, as a mother, will disassociate and defensively numb yourself to what is happening. If you allow yourself to feel all the pain then you cannot go on. Its not cold, just a survival skill.Looks like you have done great!
I thank God every day that He allowed us to fulfill his Word found in Psalms 127:3: "Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord, and the fruit of the womb is His reward." As for the hair, I have no idea where that hair came from. Both her dad and I have straight brown hair! Her dad's maternal grandma and 2 of his siblings have blonde hair.
Thank you so much for your kind comments, and for stopping by!
Thank you so much for the kind comment and for stopping by! I agree, she is very blessed. All of us that she touches are blessed to know her. As for the tune, the lady singing lead is a fellow Norwegian. :) I think you probably already know that. ;)
Thank you, Shay! I always joke and say she owns & operates our community animal shelter. She just took in a stray calico that she named Cali, and another one of her cats, Runty, just had 4 kittens, 3 girls and a boy. We're so tied down with animals that it's not even funny. Maybe someday we'll all look back on this and laugh, but right now I don't feel much like laughing.
