my 1st time hearing this song was when i bought a cd it was a rave cd it was Techno Mix 98 all night rave and iskipd the tracks and i came across this song i was like what tha hay then my head started bobin to the beat i was 8 years old when this came out too bad i dident hear it then the synths in this track are soooo pure so bold so up lifting WOW i bet this song was a HUGE hit in the clubs and raves now they arnt alowd to call partys rave's aney more witch is sad
I remember this song back in late '94/early '95. I was ten, and it was in rotation on my local alternative rock station. I liked it for a while there. That was a not a popular opinion amongst my peers, as they played it at a dance, and it cleared the floor. It was way to techno (which it is), and the only thing they wanted was alternative.
How could I forget the name of this song. The banjo rhythm was still perfectly intact in my mind, and for three months before today i spent almost 20 minutes every evening listening to "the greatest dance hits of the 90s" on Youtube.
And then I googled "Banjo song from the 90s" Bang ! first result :Yahoo Answers said "swamp thing - the grid". I am so happY listening to this after 17 years, and i tried hard to find it :) ! What a great song !
@RWVideos123 There is a newer version of this, mixed by Infernal, which features this tune (: I think that one is from 2002 or 2003 (; /watch?v=gIi3CgtNXQE
One of the keyboard players in this band was Dave Ball he of the mighty Soft Cell along with Marc Almond tainted love say hello wave goodbye bedsitter and sex dwarf to name just a very very small amount of what they did in the 80's , and they were back together not long ago

2:54 sounds like some toothless hillbilly playing the banjo while overdosing on speed.
