I am 39 and remember bumping this when I was about 17/18. I think I just graduated from high school in 1989 and her cassette tape sold out at the local record store lmao. I loved the whole cassette. Man...this brings back serious memories: Michel'le, Sharon Bryant, Vesta Williams, Midnight Star, Leotis lol....I am seriously stuck in that era.

Yeah I remember, her video debut on Video Soul with Donnie Simpson, around in mid April of 1989. When people heard it on the radio, they thought she was Karen White.

The second album is great--only eight tracks, but solid. For some reason she changed the spelling of her name for that one--shortened it to "Ann G." Anyway, "All I See is You" and "Get A Life" are amazing uptempo tracks that will get you out on the dance floor. "Heroes" is a gorgeous ballad. I love the dry, crackly quality of her voice, the ache in it. Karyn White is probably the closest comparison. If you like Ann G., check out Nicki Richards, also on Atlantic in 1991.

She released a 2nd album in 1991. Not as popular but still had some good tracks. I think she is working more on the production side of music. She actually produced and played keyboards on her first album.
